We apologize for the short delay, but we found some last minute bugs very late and wanted to make sure you guys are safe! As usual, modifying your firmware comes with NO guarantee for safety on xbox live.
Why the name change? No reason, we just felt like it. -THX-
iXtreme v1.6 - Team HyperX -THX-
>> >>A new release of the iXtreme firmware for BenQ, Samsung and LiteOn drives. Hitachi will follow at a later date (ETA unknown) as usual.
Team HyperX Presents IXtreme 1.6 firmware for Benq, Samsung and Liteon drives
Features:
-Strict Wave 3 compliance! hybrid (modified disks) will not boot!
-Strict drive speed compliance - 12x only for game discs!
-Support for SS V2!
-Integrated 0800 for game dumping including SS v2!
-Full support for all known game exceptions! eg ddr etc!
-One shot boot mode! - allows a one off boot of gamedisc without -stealth/partition checks (will still use stealth), use activate.iso disk to activate each time!
-Support for easy drive key/version info cmd, same as liteon!
-Strict stealth/wave checking, one shot boot mode will boot wave(x)!
More Info
Strict Wave 3 compliance means wave 3 games will only boot if they have correct PFI/DMI/SS and timestamp for wave 3
Strict drive speed compliance means games will only boot if drive is set for the initial speed of 12x, any modification of this make games fail to boot
SS v2 suports multiple timing samples for challenges type 5 and 7 , stroing them in the SS. This is a pre-requiste for SS v3 which has support for the so called AP2.5 check. Since this has never been used or may never be used by MS we will adopt a wait and see approach and continue to monitor for its usage.
With drive in Windows mode (Tray half open on powerup) 0800 mode is activated allowing easy dumping of game disc including SS v2. In this mode the drive is also able to output drive key, fw version and drive type by using a simple custom inquiry command.
Game exceptions are integrated in the fw for games that do not comply with the strict wave checks but are legitimate. These are Dance Dance Revolution Universe, Stoked, Ping 17 disk, afro samurai
One shot boot mode allows you to boot a Wave X or non stealth game by using the activate.iso disk as a flag. Just insert the activate disc and the next disc inserted will boot without any strict checks. This will still utilise full stealth if available. As soon as that disc is booted the flag is cleared, and you will have to re-insert the activate disk again to enable one shot boot. As always use with caution.

Thanks!
i want to understand this SSv2 stuff better.
I am very confused on it, is it something that was implemented by MS and is a new type of SS files? if so when was it put into place. I ask cause i wantto know how many of my games should have this but do not. Do we need to get new rips of these games using the new 0800 mode to ensure SSv2 is there? IS there danger of being banned if we do not re rip games that should have SSv2?
If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

Let me know how it goes. There isn't currently a JF 1.6 so I assume everyone is using 1.59? Another download at www.pothsprojects.com

stealthdf, Here is a little bit from the release notes of ix1.6.

yes i read that but it answers none of my questions like: when was this implemented, what games are using this already, do i need to rerip.reburn games that should have v2 but do not?
or are they saying v2 is not being used yet but this is only a precation for v3 which may or may not be implemented at all?

I'm a touch confused about the "activate.iso". When exactly will I need this. This is all still a little new to me, I'm used to just downloading/burning and then playing the games.

the activate.iso is for one time booting right? I would assume the bin should throw that in the firmware folder in JF like usual

That's what I figured. Now we just need to confirm JF works. What about the hitachi drives?

Alright guys, I used JF 1.59 Beta and the new ixtreme1.6 benq and all went well, and everything works. I havent tried dumping a game because i already have a kreon so it's pointless for me, but anyone else, let me know how it works.

Sweet. You don't need to reburn games you already have for these benefits do you?

I'm interested to see how dumping the games go... I'm tired of waiting on downloads and paying for more traffic space on rapid share! Hopefully someone will provide a tutorial or something on doing this with the Sammy drive...

I just flashed my Lite-ON and all is good.
Whoops, I see the update in #jungleflasher and #fw.
I don't know how JF took it the first time. Now it is saying not valid.

You posted in this thread, but yet created 2 threads of the exact same thing!
The Lite-ON firmware was incorrect. Even though it works, you'll need to be reflash again once the correct one comes out. Found out the ix 1.6 for Lite-ON that everybody got was BETA. Waiting for the re-pack now.

Thanks for the links guys, flashing went smooth with DosFlash32.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Its has been confirmed. Samsung and BenQ are CORRECT.
The Lite-ON file was a Beta version. JF won't even accept the file now. Just need to wait for the re-pack of Lite-ON.
