OK here is what I want to do. I want to play music on my PC and have the sound sent to my PS3 and out through my home stereo.
I know I can share music from my pc to my ps3 I have that setup already and it works but not very efficiently. Cannot create playlists, takes a long time to search through a large music collection to find a song. When I am having a party or something at my house I would like to be able set up a play list and walk away and PS3 doesn't allow me to do that.
Is there a way that I can use software like "Winamp" on my PC and have the audio output to my PS3 which is hooked to my home audio system?
If there is some 3rd party software please list it here.
I would like to be able to change the music without having to move files around.
In other words I just want to play music on my laptop using winamp and have the sound output to my home theater system without running a bunch of wires.
I am trying icecast and I have the server setup and the PS3 using the web browser can find the server. But I cannot make winamp the servers source so there is no stream for the ps3 to listen to.
add all the songs u want at the same time and go to group by date added, find the time that thsoe were added and add them all to a playlist then go back to a normal list
Why not use playlists an TVersity?
Icecast an Orb is basicly the same princple as TVersity, if hell on intent of this to work, i have another suggestion, does your home sound system have the ability of FM radio?
If so, why not purchase an FM transmitter (really cheap these days and compact) plug it into your laptop, and transmit to your receiver, effectively canceling out the need for your PS3 to be on at all? Just a thought...
