Do you need to mod your PS3 to play games downloaded from torrents?

Subject explains it all really...

A friend of mine has asked me to download a few games for them but their console isn't chipped or otherwise modded.

Will the games I download play on their machine or do they need to chip it or anything?

You can't mod a PS3.
You can't played burned games on the PS3.

AS the others said,the PS3 hasn't been circumvented,you cannot play PS3 back ups on it,the PS3 games that people download are useless,they wont work even when the PS3 is hacked.
