Sorry to do this but I am taking down all of my guides.
My original post for the reason I am doing this has been edited. Most of this stuff can be obtained by doing some research.
There are some here that have a good handle on the scene so hopefully someone else will step up to the plate and resume where I have left off.
Its been a nice ride and hope the best for all.

As long as you have installed the cIOS36_rev9 or above then the USB loader GX should work.

If your not sure then just install cIOS38_rev13a.
You can find this in this guide HERE.
Just download the Softmod Pack and then follow the cIOS38_rev13a section of the guide.

How many games can fit on a 8GB USB stick? Is that an ok way to go with the USB loader? Also, do you have to leave the SD card in all the time when using the USB loader?
Sorry for the stupid question.

How many games will depend on what games you're talking about. For example, Wii Sports is almost nothing... Ghostbusters is almost 3.9 gb.
If you're using the USBLoaderGX then yes you will need to leave the SD card in the Wii. If you're using another version, like 1.4 or 1.5 then they have wads you can install as a stand alone channel.

usbloadergx reads my 160gb WD hard drive i stuck into an enclosure. at first it wouldn't read from either usb port until i got to the screen where it gives me 30 seconds to try again. i just turned the external off and then back on again and it detected it and loaded up.
i had preinstalled a few games, 2 ntsc and 1 pal (punch out). the ntsc games worked, but PO didn't. i selected the game and the pop up screen with the disc shows up. i click on the disc to play and it freezes. only way out is to power down the wii. the other 2 games work just fine.
does this have anything to do with me not completing the steps to "launch backups from normal disc channel"? or is it a usbloadergx issue. perhaps an update available. or the cIOS38_13a i installed? or something else i need to do to be able to play pal games.

You need to fiddle with the game settings before launching the game.
Go to Punch Out! like you normally would when launching it. Instead of selecting the disc select settings. Change video mode to FORCE NTSC Turn ON #002 error and turn ON country code string.
After you change those settings save it. Now try lunching the game.
You might have to fiddle with the settings for other games if they do not load.
I also fixed the HDD comaptibility list link.

I have a USB drive (500GB) with two primary partitions, first one is FAT32 and the second is WBFS (active). How can I make the first one active too? If I try to activate it, the software shows a message that will make the other inactive. I'm using EASEUS Partition Master 4.0 Home Edition...
I understand that I need both partitions to be active in order to store the images in the FAT32 partition and be able to play games...

I advise against upgrading to the newest version of USB Loader GX (r516). I'm using the version in the Softmod pack with no problems whatsoever. When I updated to the newest version, my USB drive wouldn't get recognized unless I unplugged it and plugged it back in, games wouldn't work, etc. Maybe it was just me, but if you have any problems after updating, downgrade to the Softmod version.

When I get a hard drive what way should it be formatted? Fat 32? On screen I get a msg WSBS needs to format a partition. What does this mean? Do I stick the game iso's on the root or inside a seperate folder?
Thanks for all the tut's, everything (apart from this so far!) working like a dream.

Ya, you need to move them all to another drive, and format the drive you plan to keep the games on with the WBFS manager . Then use the WBFS manager to "load" the games onto your drive.
When WBFS loads the games, some are 4 GB, but some games are only 300 MB. I have for example at least 125+ games sitting on my 250 GB WD MyBook. If they were all 4 GB i could only hold a little over 60...pretty frickin sweet. These guys got it right, and they're making it better every day almost.

Cant get Mario Kart to work on USB Loader, my backup disk works but when I add it using the front end it is corrupt, goes to black screen with code on it and a loud buzz from the telly. Acquired another copy and added to the drive using the pc utility. Same error. Any clues?
