I installed version 453M which came with the softpack this works with some games but there is no #002 error setting in this version. When I load the new rev 663 my USB stick is not recognised until it is removed and replaced, the internet network connection is rarely recognised and all the games I have loaded are shown with the same name! I have just downloaded version 682 and this also locks up th Wii and lists all games on the USB stick with the same name. I have checked the Game Compatibility list for Mario Kart and all should be well if I can get a working USB Loader File. I am very frustrated can anyone please help?
I have experienced the same problem. Turn the wii all the way off (red light) and then restart. All should be good then. To turn all the way off, hold the power button in for approx. 5-6 seconds.

I'm having trouble with the Boxart, it won't auto download them, says "download 2 files?" ok, "downloaded, 2 files missing"
I've put image files in the correct directories in the SD card, named exactly what i re-named the games in the loader, still no dice.
Any ideas?

The covers need to be labeled with the game ID not the name of the game. Also make sure they are 160x244 in size.

Can someone confirm if the SD card is required to be in the slot all the time in order to have the game covers/themes?
I have the USB loader installed as a channel and it works great, but if I pull the SD card, the function still works, but I lose the covers/themes.
Thank you.

Thanks, thought that might be the problem, was going to be my next plan, until i updated the loader, now all of the box art downloads ok :)
Just managed to work out how to get the games on the drive straight from my PC also, so now i think i'm pretty sorted.
This thing is amazing!!

I installed usb loader gx and it works perfectly (from the HBC that is ) .
But my problem begins when i use te forwarder from the channel guide.
If i try to start it up from there is get a black screen and the wii freezes, the lights on the remote blink couple of times and thats it black screen.

You need to install cMIOS_rev3 then load the backups with a Game Cube loader or use NeoGamma R6 or Wiigator Gamma.
You can get cMIOS-Rev3 and NeoGamma R6 in the NEW AND IMPROVED SOFTMOD guide.

Just started using USB Loader today.. everything seems to be working great (Wii sports resort doesn't work, but I think I need the motion plus to make it work?)
only question, is there anyway to place wiiware games on the USB HDD? I have no more space on my wii.

No you can not put VC/WiiWare games on USB Device at this time.
You can however MOVE them to an SD Card if your on 4.0 or 4.1 firmware.

Is it possible to have the Wii automatically start up into the USB Loader GX channel, skipping the Wii channel menu all together? The USB Loader GX menu is all you need to really access all hacks. It would be so awesome if this could be done.

Isn't that what "BootMii" is supposed to do?

Well, perhaps you can explain what I need to do to make Wii autoload into USB Loader GX upon turning it on.
When I turn it on now, it loads into the BootMii menu that has a bunch of icons that have no explanation, leaving me a but too worried to try clicking on any of them. I tried the SD button and picking USB Loader GX's boot file, but that doesn't seem to do anything except freeze the menu for about five seconds.
Might someone also be able to tell me what the SD buttons in the options with the green and red arrows do?

I don't think it is possible for Bootmii to auto-boot files yet. But I really don't know for sure.
I use Bootmii for recovery purposes only. For hacks and auto-boot purposes I use Preloader .29.
So this is my setup.
I saved the Bootmii folder (that is on the SD card root) and a backup of my NAND to my PC (I also burned a copy of those to a CD/DVD data disc). I then removed the Bootmii folder from the SD Card root. If you ever need to recover from a brick that Preloader can not recover then all you need to do is add the Bootmii folder back to the SD root so Bootmii can boot again before the system menu.
Now for the steps to auto-boot an application using Preloader (You should use Preloader .29 and make sure you have the proper firmware and region version of hacks.ini).
Place the boot.dol of USB Loader GX at the root of the SD Card (it can be named boot.dol or you can also rename it to whatever you want e.g. UsbLoaderGX.dol). After you place it in the root place the SD card in the Wii System.
Get to the Preloader menu by holding down the reset button while turning on the Wii system.
Go down to Load / Install file in the list and press A.
You should now see the boot.dol (or whatever you named the dol file). Go to it and Press A to install it.
After it installs and you see the selection screen again Press B to go back to main menu.
Now go down to Settings and press A.
Change autoboot: to file.
Go down to Save Settings and press A.
After the settings say saved press B to go back to the main menu.
Now you can turn off the system by holding down the power button.
From now on the USB Loader GX should boot automatically when you turn on your Wii System.
