If you could help verify a couple things about this, I'd really appreciate it. I read so many warnings and some stuff about random people getting bricks from Preloader. I have backed up my NAND, moved nand.bin to my PC and an external HD. I guess that's enough to redo a brick, but I also read that Preloader makes permanent changes to your Wii. If this bricks it, does the BootMii NAND reverse those "permanent" changes?

About the quoted area, my Wii was updated and followed your New and Improved Wii guide, which then led me to this guide. So, I think everything is the same as your Wii. It says v4.1U in the menu. The hacks.ini says version=418 with some others being 417, 290, 258. Is this good for installing? As for checking the region version of the hacks.ini, I'm not quite sure of how to do that. I see a lot of different region stuff in the ini, mainly disc region stuff.

Thanks for all the guides and help.

Preloader is perfectly fine as long as you use the proper firmware version and region INI file. It doesn't make permanent changes either. Upgrading or Downgrading your system will overwrite Preloader.

As for the hacks.ini you can download the 4.1U USA hacks file HERE. Just extract it and place the hacks.ini file to your SD card root. Then run the Preloader .29 installer from HBC.

I am having an issue with Mario Kart Wii (NTSC) on rev 713. I get a black screen and freeze on loading the game. I have tried "Block IOS Reload", and "Error 002 Fix" but neither did anything. Someone else had this issue too. Was there a fix? It worked fine a few weeks ago.

also does usbloader_gx have a irc chat room anywhere?

When I tried installing Preloader, I got this message. Is there a way to get around it?

"Failed to get ROOT, current IOS(36) has the fakesign bug fixed."

Run IOS Downgrader.

You can get it from the previous softmod guide this thread was linked to.

I thought I bricked my way starting up USB Loader with preloader. lol A colorful screen appeared after taking a second to start-up. lol It appears to be normal, though.

Everything seems to be working, though. Thank you very much, Larry!! :D

I have followed the NEW AND IMPROVED WII SOFTMOD GUIDE ! with success in everything except on running USB Loader GX. Everytime I start a game it shows the blue screen of error 002.

Altough i can run all my games from NeoGamma R6, i like best USB Loader GX because of the GUI

Need to know what should I check or do in order to run all my games from USB Loader GX.

I also updated USB Loader to revision 713.

Wii is Version 4.1U and was recently formatted to start a fresh softmod.

Please help me.

Best regards

Enable the #002 error fix in the settings before launching the game.

Have done it with negative results. I have changed the default settings to on the #002 error switch.

Also individually on each game with no success.

Should I install the #002 fix.wad?

I'm having the exact same issue as the fellow above: Mario Kart Wii NTSC-U freezes black after the Wiimote Safety and Online Warnings screens. This happened also when I tried to burn the game to disc and load through NeoGamma R6, so I assumed it was my burner. I'm pretty pissed to say the least, what is an hour or two project for everyone else has now been a weeks-long project for me, with almost every step forward having some issue.

I'm on a 4.1 Wii, USB Loader GX rev713, and cIOS39_rev14. I followed the new and improved softmod guide. I used DVD Dumper to retrieve the ISO via WiFi connect; DVD Dumper gave me a url and it downloaded from there. I'm trying my hand at some texture hacks and I needed a way to launch backups. If there's no solution, it appears I'm out of options.
Can anyone help?

Well what do you expect anyone to do? We can only tell you how to set it up. If that doesn't work then you have had to do something wrong or the backup copy your using is bad.

By the way I no longer use USB Loader GX. I use SDUSB-Loader cfg40 which you can get HERE.

Hi
I installed USB loader, and WBFS manager on PC. I formatted Hard dirve to be WBFS, and loaded up a game to external, then connected hard drive to wii. I started usb loader, and all I got was a blank menu screen. Only way to exit is to pull the plug. It did not ask for a password or to format. Am I missing a step here????

This happens to me if I don't wait to plug in the loader. Open up the loader. When it says it can't find your usb, then plug in the hard drive

Thanks for the answer...unfortunately, it didn't work. Any other ideas folks? Could my hard drive not be compatible? I bought it in summer 2006, its an internal that I put a case on.

Hi, I've just followed your guide and soft modded my Wii and then followed this guide (Nice work by the way). Tiger Woods and Grand Slam work from the USB loader but Sports Resort won't. It just goes back to the wii menu for some reason :S

Read past post in this thread for your answer or find the multiple of threads on Wii Sports Resort that answer this question as well.

No one is saying you posted it in the wrong thread. The point I am trying to make is, if you had searched past post in this thread or looked at past Wii Sports Resort threads in the Wii section you wouldn't have had to post the question at all.

Yeah I know, which is what I've done and I still haven't found an answer. Looks like I'll have to try and burn it to disk instead and use the NeoGamma method. That looks like I've contradicted myself but I wanted to abvoid other methods and see if there is a solution using the USB loader.

There is a way to use USB Loader. Do some searching. As I said your answer is in this thread. As well you would have to do the same steps even with a backup disc and NeoGamma.
