Why are backups being recognized as DVD's?

I've had a couple backups that were recognized as DVD's on the dash board. It gives me the option to play the DVD and when I do, I get a blue flash and it hangs on the XBOX360 screen. I ran ABGX360 on it and it passed, so I don't understand what the problem could be. I'm using Verbatim discs. Thanks in advance.

When did you buy it?
I'm betting you are trying to play a wave 3 game on ix1.5 or lower and it is giving you that message.
What games are you trying that give you the "Play DVD" message?

I should also add that other backups have worked fine.

I bet the backups that are working are Wave 2 or 1. List the games that don't work and the games that do work.

What drive do you have?
Take off the 360 faceplate. Look under the DVD bezel where it says XBOX 360. There should be a small hole and 2 wires.
Yellow = Lite-ON
White = BenQ
Red & Black = Samsung
Plastic piece = Hitachi
Jungle Flasher tutorial is the best tutorial out there.

Burn the backups at a higher write speed, such as 4x or 6x or 8x

Thanks for the help guys. What parts do I need to connect the DVD Drive to the PC? Do I need a "connectivity kit" for instance?

The connectivity kit is optional but it makes it a hell of a lot easier than moving around the 360 and PSU. What DVD drive do you have?

Theres a white wire, so its a BenQ I guess. I genuinely appreciate the help on this guys.
Another thing, my computer only has an IDE connection. Can I use an IDE to SATA adapter?

Does it hava a PCI connection? If so, you should just get the VIA VT6421 card.

Ok, just got one on Ebay for $8. Looks like the way to go since it provides an external SATA slot on the card. I was really considering paying someone to do this, but I'm sure I'll be glad I did it myself once its all over. Thanks again for the great help everyone!

Once you get the card installed and Jungle Flasher up and running, you'll find that it is very easy and be glad you didn't pay some one to flash your drive. :)

Yeah, especially since I'd have to keep paying every time a new update comes out.
Thanks again!

Dude, never suggests that to anyone concerning anything. ESPECIALLY 360 games. Burning faster never ever is a solution, its only a problem.
