3. Re-enable VIA card in Device Manager.
4. Re-Boot PC.
yo leerage...when I do that I get an error of "no VIA ports were found" when I open up up jungle flasher
That doesn't matter if your sata ports still pick up your drive, if you have a VIA sata card then it's a problem.

That doesn't matter if your sata ports still pick up your drive, if you have a VIA sata card then it's a problem.
Is there a way I can test if my pcmcia via sata card is bad? besides testing on another sata device. e.g. software. my laptop can detect it.

I gotta ask a dumb question since I can't seem to find the answer. How do I know if my onboard SATA is compatible? Do I just try it and see what happens?
If it's not compatible, can I just order any of the VIA VT6412A PCI cards, and is there a preferable one?

LITERALLY just flashed my lite-on using this guide and the CK3 pro + probe. Worked great, had some trouble wiping the firmware (kept getting x0800 [or whatever it is]), but restarted from the very start, loaded the probe, on/off quickly around the 5th '.' and all is peachy.
In regards to the above post, yes and no...
You can re-probe and get your key again, ONLY before you wipe it.
If you mess up probing to get your drives key, then wipe the firmware you are fuckuckered, plain and simple.
So long as you have the correct keys saved somewhere (i stuck backups on a usb drive just because i'm a bit of a pussy). I don't think that much can go wrong. I'm pretty sure even if you have a power cut while writing new firmware or something similar, there are DOS apps around that will help you to recognise it again (don't quote me on that).
So in short, if you've got ur keys safe, you're golden, and you can repeat whatever chunks you like, altho, i'd advise starting over from the start of this tutorial if something doesn't work properly.

Most should work, I used my onboard ports from Gigabyte DS3, which is intel ICH6? (off the top of my head).
Which motherboard are you using? it depends on your chipset, but asfaik, intels, nforce and something else is fine

It's his end.
Free accounts will only allow his pictures to be loaded a certain number of times (in simple terms), probably per month, but not sure.
So until that date (the 24th), when his bandwidth is reset, there's nothing you can do to see them from your end.

Nice 1 cheers Leerage!!Just to clarify will my tiao connectivity kit v3 and sata via 6421 do the job yeah??This will be my first xbox flash(and its a lite-on 74850c) so i want to get it right first time round without messing it up!

Can you post a link to the kit you have? Also, does it have a alligator clamp?
Just be very careful when connecting the alligator clamp to the connectivity kit's voltage regulator. You might want to follow their tutorial as they show when to connect the alligator clamp to the voltage regulator. TIAO tutorial

And on the Tiao tutorial it is only referring to the 83850c drive not the 74850c,don't know why this is!!
Im guessing that the flashing method is the same or similar for both drives??

The flashing method is the same but getting the DVDkey for the drives is different. If you follow my tutorial with your 74850C you should be fine.

With the 74850C, you have to use serial or USB via the probe/spear. With the 83850C, you can dump the encrypted DVDkey via SATA.

hey leerage. I got the probe and ck3 lite..but I dont know how to hook up the cables and when to hook up the cables..Can you tell me when exactly to hook up what cables..I can see the pictures but Im confused as to when I hook up what cables. Im guessing at the beginning its the green cable to power the drive and the sata cable to my pc on board one to the xbox drive..but after that im confused...

Dealing with the probe, it is attached to one end of the DVD drive power cable. That end will need to go into the drive. The end that has nothing connected to it, will go into the connectivity kit.

On the CK3 dvd connectivity kit, it should be blue which is normal mode. Red is debug mode and that is to put Hitachi 59s and lower into Mode B. Your probe will have a blue light and when you go to probe the R707 hole, you will get a green light which means you have a good connection.

thank you..when i get to the extracting it..it says everything looks okay..then i save the key bin inquiry and dummy.....but then it says dummy.bin is missing some drive specific information...it says for some newer drives this info is blank by default...what do i do?

Go ahead and fix the info. Open up your Lite-ON drive and look at the bottom side of the laser and inside the PCB board. There are white stickers that contain the information it is asking. Fill in the missing info and save. Then load the corrected dummy bin and spoof the info to iXtreme 1.6. Erase and flash from there.
