iv been reading about nag 3 since summer 2008, on alot of forums and the minute the channels were scrambled last year it was nag 3 and it wasnt so i wouldnt worry too much yet to be honest , every man and his dog knows a guy working with nthell & ch*r*s that says something about it to them and just comes back and fills up threads here and other forums, all my channels are still working all im saying guys is just relax and ride it out and see what happens ,

Three versions of Nagravision are in common use for digital satellite television, known as Nagravision, Nagravision Cardmagedon, and Nagravision Aladin. Nagravision Cardmagedon and Aladin are often confused with each other. Nagravision Cardmagedon is however, a complicated combination of Nagravision Aladin and Mediaguard SECA 2 encryption.
The decryption unit is either integrated into a receiver, available as a conditional access module (CAM), or as one of many encryption schemes supported on a CAM emulator.
Nagravision has been adopted all over the world as a conditional access system, with providers:
Virgin Media (United Kingdom) (Nagravision 1)
StarHub TV (Singapore)
Dream Satellite TV (Philippines) (Nagravision 3)[1]
Polsat (Poland) (Nagravision 3)
Digital+ (Spain) (Nagravision 3)
TV Cabo (Portugal) (Nagravision 3)
Premiere (Germany) (Nagravision 3)
Digi TV (Romania) (Nagravision 2 & Nagravision 3)
Bell TV (Canada) (Nagravision 3)
Look Communications (Canada)
Reliance BigTV (India)
Dish Network (USA) (Transition to Nagravision 3 was completed on 6/18/09)
UPC (Ireland) (Nagravision 1 being phased out, currently switching to Nagravision 3)
Telenet (Belgium) (Belgium) (Nagravision 2)
Tivù Sat, dahlia TV, Mediaset Premium and Pangea platform (Nagravision 3)
Initially all International channels including Pakistani channels were moved from N2 to N3, then Indian channels and in the third phase Adult channels have been moved. The rest of the channels were transferred to Nagra 3 on DishNetwork, on June 18, 2009.
Digital+ and Top Up TV are the only providers using Nagravision Cardmagedon (and also Nagravision Aladin) after its adoption in March 2005 and 2008 respectively.
The original Nagravision 1 is now almost obsolete after it was originally compromised in 1999, although Dream Satellite maintain relative security by changing keys several times throughout the day, causing great inconvenience to unauthorized viewers.
The Nagravision Aladin providers have been confronting the issue of satellite signal piracy and smart card piracy, since the system was publicly compromised in summer 2005. At first, security of the system was regained, with software revisions, manipulation of the Nagravision encryption algorithm, along with the phasing out of older cards, like the ROM101, ROM102, ROM103 in USA and ROM110,ROM120,ROM130 in Europe, in favour of the newer ROM142/ROM180.
Card hackers have, however, continued to compromise the encryption system, with continued software and key releases being made available to the public. Software emulation of the Nagravision system has been implemented in many Free-To-Air Satellite receivers, allowing unauthorised viewing to those who do not own an official card.[citation needed].

Why is this version (V1.12) not on the Latest Fix Thread?
Currently the latest firmware is V1.10 on that thread.
Is it possible for everyone to state if they are either in Ireland or the UK as I'm in the UK, have V1.10 and I don't know whether to used V1.12 because some say it works and some say it fried their box.

There is or never has being a N3 fix , Canada and Spain have N3 in operation over 2 years now. If N3 was going to be cracked it would have being done by now. And if there was an sign of it being cracked, do you think N$l would have forked out millions to launch N3 ?

I just installed the version 12. I don?t see any discernable benefits (of course my box may not now blow up - which is good).
It did not restore movies and sports which was my secret hope.
Any ideas guys on how to do it or where to look. I am a bit new to all this.

I Lost sky movies, sports and ppv, bin file in use was usb beta for starview 4, upgraded to v1.12 no joy same story was working fine yesterday Sunday 16th, anybody got ideas. Living in Dublin City Centre.

Two of my uncles starviews fried today must b v1.10 his other box is working fine because of v1.12 why he hadnt changed over the other boxes is beyond me , one working box and two expensive paper weights!!!

Have followed The Box Super USB instructions with no splitters but am still not receiving many channels (only BBC1 BBC2 and BBC 4). Other channels are showing a dollar sign. Can anyone help? live in ayrshire scotland
