So Ive been trying to figure out which is the best modding method for my ps2 slim (SCHP 75001, V14), but i cant seem to find any news on the subject from 2009.
Which is the preferred method? magic swap? usbextreme? some other method I have no clue about.
All I care about is playing back-ups and imports. The easier the better. Sorry if this is a "n00b" questions.
Thanks in advance guys!

The only thing thats changed lately is now there is memor32 or fmcb 1.8
The preferred and best method is still the modchip.
Otherwise the first two I mentioned work best for softmodding.
There is threads all over on that, or in my profile.
The memor32 costs money, fmcb 1.8 is better and is free, but you need a way to install it, or have a vounteer install for you.
You can play games off USB, but compatibility is still not the greatest.
There are new utilities for transferring games to USB drive, even if you purchase USBExtreme.
I have posted those many times also.
Just read through each PS2 section in the last bit and you will find info.

The prefered and best method is free MCboot. It is free, easy, and requires no physical modification to the unit. You can install it by various differnt boot disks...if you can't find one (or borrow one from a friend), you can still buy one for less than the cost of a modchip.
