no joy with that firmware mate? comes up it is not a file of this IRD?? Any advice mate?

Sh%t guys I have star4,krypt, I have received dream500 in the last few days and i'm in the procsess of making a balls of same, how many boxes do i have to buy?

Works great! Just run thru the steps i did, hope it helps sum1.
Got starview 5 thru the post today. Downloaded the newest firmware, v2.03. Put it on usb, connected usb to the box. Switched it on, chose english, then selected usb. Selected the firmware, waited for it to install, after 100% the box rebooted (took about a minute). Done channel search (automatic scan) found all the channels. Went to menu, pressed 1570 on the remote. Turned code "on". exited.
All channels working great!
Jus some channels are poor quality on my HD tv.

With the new starview 5 usb Wil it pickup all the channels like sports & movies ??? im base in tallaght :)
so not sure if i sud get one !!!

just set one of these up for a friends dad he picked one up yesterday for 80quid from the hamfest show at newark showground there was a bloke there with a truckload of them imo not worth upgrading if you already have a box there no different still got issues with epg only the same channels inside it appears to be just the same so i dont know where the "security chip" is?

Security chip is for the chip itself not to be able to be cloned, so there will be no copy of the starview 5.

if ya not seen the Kryptview HD i would hold off mate a much better buy than the euro with it plenty full of problems.
and as ya know better support for the Krypt ;)
