Huh? LoL! It's one of two Street Fighter 15th Anniversary Arcade Controllers I have that was for use on the PS2 & Xbox. I had modded it previously with some older HAPP Arcade controls/buttons and used it on my PS3 [Fat] with a USB adapter for use with SF4, SSF 2 Turbo HD Remix and as of late MvsC 2 (amongst other things like M.A.M.E. on my Xbox).

Thanx! It's an original PS3 SixAxiS being used with an Axisdapter made/sold by Toodles. I have been wanting to do this for a while and the recent purchase of a Townhouse made me prep for the move as the layout of the new place demands wireless. But I do always have the option to use the USB cable I included just in case (and for charging/syncing).

~ Back to wiring...about 70% done now!

TY glassd!

Here are the finished pics and some descriptions. I just have to decide/finalize what artwork I want to go with (which is why it still has the original Udon design) ~

Finally got everything totally wired up

Correct placement of the SixAxiS (I will get into why at the end)

Just a better close up

The rest of the internals wired etc. I could definitely have done the wiring better but you'll never see it anyway when it's closed up soo...

The "PS" button placement

USB Cable management

And the additional little mod I did

I added the 2 buttons (L1 & R1) to each side because of an itch to play Pinball lately but with a bit more realism...which brings me to why I placed the SixAxiS properly so as to have the "just in case" either Zen Pinball, the upcoming Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection for PS3 (I already have it for the Wii & my PSP and LOVE it!) OR any future Pinball game ends up supporting it for shaking the tables. Basically so it won't be all screwed up if I would have just let it hang in the incorrect position.

I also plan to also use it for The Zero Game Project (Multi Console Emulator) on YDL 6.1 for PS3 as well as on my PC with Visual Pinball (PinMAME) for my all time favorite table....Addams Family! I have been searching and waiting for a LOOONG time for a dev to make it, and one WAS in the process but it recently got canceled! Hopefully another company picks it up or is already working on it...but anyway I recently got the EMU working and playing it brings me back to when I was a Manager at an Arcade back in NY. Actually that explains why I prefer HAPP parts over Sanwa/Seimitsu since that isall that I have ever really used in American Arcades etc. Hell, I even prefer the standard HAPP buttons over the competition ones! But I may do my next one with either all Sanwa/Seimitsu stuff or a combo of them.

This whole process has even got me thinking I might even start making/selling some, but made from my own box design...I dunno? What do you guys think?

Great job man. That would be a great controler. Might be difficult marketing it. No idea how to get the public to see it. Very cool.

It would depend on quite a few things and combination's like what buttons/stick (HAPP/Sanwa/Seimitsu), case finishing i.e. paint/design & if you wanted a wired or wireless version.

The wired version would be the cheaper of the two since you don't have to factor in the additional cost of a SixAxiS. If I had to make a "guestimate" on the above plus wood, supplies & labor I would say at least about $100 on the lowest end wired version on up to about $150+ for one with all the trimmings.

But remember these parts would be what the pros & actual Arcades use, with a quality accurate adapter. Not some crappy imitation type controller with laggy internals or whatever.

$100 to $150 sounds very cheap compaired to $50 for a normal controler.

very nice AE. i want to do the cthulhu/imp mod and sanwa gt-y octogate to my 360 TE, but currently broke, and the cthulhu board is sold out from lizard lick.

you should post that at the shoryuken forums.

TY cee43ja1...It's over there. Just not of the same caliber as most in my opinion right now. Maybe when/if I start making my own boxes and doing the wiring the way I "see them in my head" I'll get more props etc.

As for the Cthulhu board Lizard Lick may be out of them but you should be able to get them from Toodles through the shoryuken forums, right?

Great job! $150 is a great price for that, especially considering it's modded for the PS3. I built a full MAME arcade a couple of years back with all the HAPP components. I love the fel of HAPP controls. But I lack wood tools, so I bought the wood kit with pre-drilled holes and pre-cut for T-molding. Where did you get your artwork? I know mamemarquees has some super industrial non-scratch stuff and an option to use their stock designs or send them custom artwork.

Anyway, it looks great. You should mod it to get 5V to replace some of those buttons with incandescant light buttons. If you do figure that out, you'd probably drain the battery pretty quickly :P

TY Emugamer! The art work is "stock". It comes with the Street Fighter 15th Anniversary Arcade Controller. The box I would make from scratch would be based more off of this kind of a design with a standard SF button pattern (not curved like below) ~

I know most people would really like this kind of shape/style ~

But then you are limited to using Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons and sticks because of their lower profile, whereas the box I would make can do either or.....but I have a REALLY REALLY COOL plan for my next box that I will start in the next few days...Seriously! I have been planning to do it for about 8 years or so now and I finally have the desire to make/complete it (plus I have some extra parts lying around I can use for now).

Watch this space...

I was going to wait because I am not going to be able to finish the internals for a little while so here it is!

I left some stuff out/off for now but when I have all the parts and time to finish it they'll go back in. I have a few ideas that I will try out to give it that extra touch. Like using the On/Off/Standby/Reset button as <Start>, Eject as <Select> and try to use the Power Switch on the back as the button for <PS>, plus use one of the USB ports on the front for, well the USB!

i've seen a nintendo nes stick, but a ps2 stick is a first. and your idea for the electrical layout is genius.

i'm suprised that happ buttons fit. looks like the clearance is very tight.

@ cee43ja1 ~ I could have pushed everything over quite a bit if I left out the 7th & 8th buttons, but I wanted all 8 in that specific layout since it is based off my original first Arcade Controller build from almost 10 years ago!

@ stickweed ~ I didn't take any more pics because it's missing stuff like the DVD Tray bezel (I have it, just didn't bother putting it in), Standy/Eject button and the Power switch (have them aside for testing) plus the Expansion Bay cover (seems this is the only part I might have lost).
