Well since I started playing my backups, I have went out and purchased each game of course and then photocopied the receipts for my records after which I can return the games or resell them.

So if I got banned, I would be able to provide Msoft a copy of each games individual receipt.

Hmm

Wonder what they would say to that!

They would say: "You violated our Terms of Service by modifying the console. That is why we banned you. Epic Fail."

Attempting to apply logic to those in power was a downfall I myself had for many years. The true marking of an adult is when you realize that logic only works in academic books and theories, and nowhere else. Essentially, the sooner you acquire learned helplessness (Google it) towards everything in life, the sooner you will come to terms with adulthood.

This cheery vision of your future brought to you by qwert.

I don't think they'd say anything. I just see an image of Bill Gates in a facepalm.

Have you recently got banned, was it from forza? And ya i think that you should be able to mod your xbox and play your backups or they should have to replace discs if they get scratched.

Piracy is EASY EASY EASY to stop but the game companies don't want to stop it... Think about it...

Collaborate with Sony, Nintendo and Msoft... make a completely new type of disc, copyright it... do not allow it to be sold on the market, hence no way to reproduce the disc and keep it the standard for video games.

They just don't want to stop it because realistically that would not be hard to do.

Then get with Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo, tell them your plan on what you want to do! I'm sure they will listen.

wow you must be pretty smart. Because copyright protection has never been cracked! Good one...but for some reasons this was the idea behind movies, cd's etc when they were created and copyrighted. Hmm, how did we manage to crack those?

Wow to the two above morons.

For one clearly you did NOT read the post thoroughly considering the fact that I said it would be on a media NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE in the stores.

DVDS, CDS are all available in the stores.

So your basically saying that if there was a disc type of media created NOT AVAILABLE to purchase in stores, NO DRIVES available to read it available in stores, and your saying that you will figure out a way to pirate it?

Far fetched my friend... think before you attempt to belittle a poster.

The only reason you can pirate Xbox 360 games is because DL discs are available for sale.. if they were not, you would not be able to pirate your Xbox discs.

And Leerage your just a moron in general so not much need to respond to your post because if you read the thread and people talking about adding Product Keys on Xbox games and how it wouldn't work I just threw out a solution and you took it as me wanting to implement it.

Yeah I'm sure going to go talk to Sony and Msoft about it because I care that much.

Piracy is good in some ways. Its a good way to get word around about a game that most people would never buy in the first place. And I'm sure that being able to mod a xbox360 helped console sells out alot.
It's not all bad even Bill Gates himself does some crazy Crap, like Stealing the idea of the operating system.

Now days atleast around my area you can exchange the game for a new one even without a reciept,I just took in a gears of war 2 disk into Wally World they gave me a new one with N/P.

wow, i wonder how they managed to copy n64, sega games then. i have never once seen cartridges sold in stores, but yet it could be done.

Yet the amount of piracy was GREATLY insignificant as opposed to Playstation 1 / 2 ... Xbox 360 etc.

In fact most people I know bought a PS2 just simply due to the fact that it was easy to mod / burn games for rather then the N64.

So you can't dispute the fact that it greatly would cut down on piracy and neutralize its effects.

that and the compuers it took to copy games back then were pretty damn expensive. anyone with a laptop can pirate games now. so once again, your idea is just flawed.

and what other types of media is there to introduce? a 7 sided polygon that you insert into the console?

Are you honestly that close-minded?

They could simply create a larger disc, smaller disc, different shaped disc (they even have hockey cards that can be put in a dvd drive)

Anybody with a laptop can pirate games?

I'd like to see you play a pirated PS3 game right now.

Eventually you will be able to but definitely not now.

Anyways pointless argument some of you clearly have no vision.

Whats here is here there can never be anything different right?

If we went by that logic a huge amount of technology would not exist.

But if you can't see past that thats your perogative.

And nobody said it even needs to be in a different shape (ex. Blu Ray / HD DVD)

If you could not ever purchase a BluRay disc in the stores and you could not purchase a Blu Ray drive in the stores, would you be playing modded PS3 games in the future?

Most likely not and if you were, most people would not.. they would buy the Xbox because its accessible and easy to mod.

Unless your in Asia, the SNES and N64 modding was largely unheard of.

And we all know the emulators sucked for the longest time.

Delusional.. again you have no vision. To be so close-minded as saying this is not possible is ridiculous.

You should have been around to tell Nasa they already have planes, what shape are they going to make a new one in? Fly into space? Impossible because planes can't do that.

Guess you don't have much of a rebuttal.

And gameover9:

Why don't you just boot up your PS3 emulator and play Uncharted 2.

I'll be waiting to hear how the game is. I'd also even be interested to see your Ps2 emulator working flawlessly in action.

Do you even know how emulation works?.

You need 100 times the power of the CPU so Super Nintendo is running at something like 3.58 MHz so a 350 MHz CPU was powerful enough but on a PS3 at 3.2 GHZ you would need 320 GHZ... Let me know where you can buy a computer that powerful I'll be waiting.

I'm a software engineer so I do find amusing the responses in this thread and close-mindedness.
