Because I refered him to it the other day. It is a good thread that can collect good information. It will be a good thread to keep alive.
ne4ious, We assemble our SCR's etc Immediately. The heat will cure it.

Thanks Glassd, but i will let my Epoxy cure for at least 4 hours, am afraid the epoxy might not be hard enough and thus run off the sides. it is a bit chilly inside the house and think that might delay my cure time.
this is a very helpful post to keep alive. am sure many ppl will have this problem as they continue to reflow their PS3's more often.
what i do now on PS3's when Heat-Spreader is locked on to the Heat-Pad on the Cooling Fan is that i start to heat the PS3 mobo from the back side where the fan is located, do not heat for a long time, just enough to get the Thermal Paste gooey are able to seperate the Heat-Pads from each other.

This is a great thread; the YLOD-heatgun-fix thread should like to this thread and say something like, "before you try the dangerous heatgun fix, try the harmless glue fix"

Does the ps3 really turn back on as if nothing had happened? Or does it make you reformat or ask you to create a user as if it were new?

I would assume that if the HD has not been replaced and nothing happened to the E-prom/Flash, all would be normal.
