For you to use the hard drive that was on ur banned xbox you must first remove or copy your gamertag to ur mu on ur banned xbox then pop ur hard drive onto ur nex xbox that u want to use it to then recover ur gamertag as usual it will load with all the saved data you had before saving you countless hours of redownloading just a lil hint if you dont do this I'm sure your hard drive doesnt read that your profile is on the drive or when u try and recover it gives you an error saying not enough hard drive space.

I've got GT saved on Memory Card since the beginning, so it means I don;t have to do anything right? Just put Memory Card into new Xbox and I'm ready to go?

I've never used a memory card before but it is used the same way as the hd to store your data so you might have to do the same thing mentioned above insert it into ur new system and let me know if your gt shows up if not copy or move ur gt to ur xbox console itself then reinsert ur memory card and recover ur gamertag

Yes the game saves are on ur hard drive but they are associated with ur gamertag. Depending on what gamer tag you used the save will only be available for that name get it? If you connect ur hard drive you previously used on a banned xbox to a NEW XBOX your gamer tag will not be there that is why Im telling you what to do so your hard drive is not read as corrupt or not having enough space.

I can move my gt from the hdd to my mu but there isn't an option for copy is that right? I've checked my gt on system settings and it didn't show as corrupt at first, when I moved it to the mu, it did. I took it out straight away and whacked it back in,
now it doesn't show as corrupt. I have not played anything on the banned console since I was banned with my profile. I am going to my friends later with my profile on the mu and see if it will sign in.

But I heard if u've played with ur saves games on that banned xbox, they will stay corrupted even if you managed to put them on your new xbox.

Microsoft: "Let them do it, let them do it..because come 4 quarter were going to pull their pants down and they better get ready for penatration, because we about to go IN"

Are you by any chance trying to recover your gamer tag on your banned xbox?

I assume this doesn't allow you to install games to the hard drive though?

What if (hypothetically) you purchased a new xbox, swapped out the guts, and returned the banned xbox back to the store with the receipt you used to buy your new xbox? Is there any way to recover your gamertag or do you have to use the banned xbox's mu to restore it? (hypothetically speaking)

How about you keep questions such as this off the forums ?

I was able to use my roommates xbox with my "banned" HD. Went to the settings and then to profiles/gamertags and deleted the profile only. I then popped the HD back into my xbox and I was back in business. In retrospect. I could have done all this on the current box that isn't banned, but I was stupid and overlooked the obvious.

Lol.

Pirating... Which is 250,000 fines and 5 years~ or whatever in prison is alright on afterdawn.

But blatant fraud/theft is offtopic.

Get your priorities straight man.

The average user who mods there xbox will not get 5 years or a massive fine, its only those peeps who sell modded xboxs and sell back up games will get hit like this

I have a question about transfering save files from a 20GB HDD that was used on my banned 360 to a new 120 HDD.

I bought a new unmodded xbox along with a new 120GB HDD with a transfer cable after mine was banned. I'm afraid if I just straight up transfer all the files from the 20 to 120 the corrupted files will put red flags all over my new 120 HDD. I have no problems recovering the gamertag. I was planning on getting a bigger HDD anyway so I don't need any help trying to get my old 20gig to work on my new xbox.

So I guess my question is will there be any problems if I just transfer by the book, or will I have to delete some files.

I really have no knowledge on the subject, I searched and nothing has really been any help. I hope I get some cub scout points for not starting a new thread. Thanks

Also if you buy an xbox arcade at walmart right now think till saturday you will recieve a $100 giftcard worked for me.
Thanks for a workaround, but I don't really care about Live much anyway. I do however, miss downloading RB2 songs.

i got a temp ban for saying the same...and the mod edited my post to make me look stupid.

people here don't like to steal face to face only behind a computer.

People returning banned xboxes will teach microsoft to mess with modder they will be getting 1000's returned to them from retailers.

And people if you don't play the game on your banned xbox you save will be FINE! delete the gamertag from the hdd and recover it on your ood xbox and all will work FINE. DO NOT PLAY SAVES ON BANNED BOX IT WILL CORRUPT THEM!!

sorry to double post but i just saw this, If you still have the banned xbox get on xbinx and download the hdd tools, using the hdd tools or a ftp you can copy everythin from the 20gb to the 120gb.

Or microsoft sell a transfer cable but that cost money :P

MU refers to the storage provided on the 360 which isnt much...

I thought MU stood for Memory Unit as in Memory Card. I have one profile saved on the HDD, and the other on the Memory Card (512MB) and when I browse through the profiles, it says 2 Profiles Found, 1 HDD, 1 MU.

XPS Gen.4 3.6GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB+750GB Seagate HD, BenQ DW1650, BenQ DW1655, Samsung SE-S184M (External) Dimension E520 3.0GHz 3.5GB RAM, 74GB+500GB Seagate HD, Samsung SH-S183, Samsung SE-S184M (External)

Ok well now that i have read this through, i am really afraid what will happen if i do something wrong.

This is what i am going to do and please tell me if it is correct or not.

I am going to buy a new Xbox a arcade one probably since i do not need a new HDD (is that correct?) then i take my 120GB HDD from my banned Xbox and delete my profile on that HDD? i then place that 120GB HDD on my newly bought Xbox plug that one up to the internet, this one should be able to connect to Xbox live again then i recover my profile from Xbox live onto the 120 gb hard disk which is attached to my new Xbox 360. Am i correct and this should work again until i get banned the next time.....?

please help me in this i am really nervous about this whole xbox thing now and it is pissing me off as well, Microsoft ----!

please help me with this much appreciated
