I've looked a lot into making backups recently, giving the obvious recent events, and have really come to the conclusion that we should not make backups with Kreon drives anymore. This is, atleast until there is an update to the Kreon firmware.
Microsoft has started using games with ssv2 in them. This means that there are additional angles in games. As of now, Kreon firmware cannot pickup these additional angles. However, drives flashed with 0800 can.
Hopefully there will be an update to the Kreon firmware soon to allow it to pickup this extra information. But for now, if you are looking to stay the safest, I would recommend only using 0800 drives for making your own backups.

it's a different drive, so unfortunately you can't just port the firmware right over because it has to be made to work at the machine level for that drive (sh d16*).
Hopefully Kreon will make updates to the firmware and release a new version of Kreon that will get the new angles.
Until then, use a dedicated 360 drive with 0800 on it, because that certainly does get it.
EX: mw2, assassin's creed has the ssv2.

oh ok that makes sense :)
Does this new ssv2 information get read in ABGX? if it's that new to the scene then how close to 100% are the verification checks that ABGX makes?
Could be showing my complete noobness at that question lol

Many thanks, I will look into this more later.
Can we still use programs like Xbox Backup Creator to rip using 0800, or do we use some other program?

Yes, the ssv2 does get read in abgx. If you rip any game that has it, with an 0800 drive, then it will show it.
Here is the log for mw2 from a retail I made myself with an 0800 drive. You'll see the angles.

Yes. I used xbc with an 0800 drive to make mw2 and it did get the angles. XBC is fine to use with 0800.

Excellent work, guesswho. I guess now we know at least one way we have been getting banned.
Above and beyond not using Kreon any more, there is something else that needs to be done -- an update to ABGX! This definitely needs to get security checked in ABGX now. Games known to use SS v2 should throw a flag when the game is scanned and doesn't contain it.
$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

I ripped with a kreon drive for mw2 and it came out all green just fine in abgx

Microsoft has not officially started using all of the values contained in ssv2, however, they have games that already have the information in them (obviously mw2 as shown). The reason to use only 0800 is because as games have this information, when MS starts checking these values as well, then if your game doesn't have them, bad news.
Stick with 0800

That's fine. It will still show as verified, but that's not what I am talking about. Kreon will not rip the additional angles. Look at your log, specifically the angles, and then compare it to mine. I have more angles shown than you. Reason being? I used 0800 drive and you didn't.

Yeah, that's the problem. It is showing as all valid, but it isn't.

Surely. It would be foolish to continue using Kreon drives.
In the mean time, for those precious few who are not yet banned, we need to start manually checking our newest game rips for SS v2. We need a way to verify what SS version (1 or 2) a game should have, and then compare that to what actually shows in ABGX. If the game is supposed to have a v2 SS but only reports as v1 in ABGX, get a fixed file or get a new rip.
ABGX really needs to know about this and fix it.

Do we know of any other recent games that had these angles? Brutal legend, borderlands, or any other notable release BEFORE MW2?

Can you post the log or re-rip MW2 with your Kreon?

that doesn't help. You need to post a log with high verbosity.
Put the log in pastebin and link it here instead of pasting the whole log in here.
Also, like said, Kreon DOES NOT, repeat, DOES NOT get the ssv2 information off of the disc.

yes, you can get 0800 from xbins.
Download it and flash a spare 360 drive with it, and use it to rip the games.

yes, 1.6 does have built in 0800, so you could use that as well. I am just saying go with dedicated 0800 because it is easier, but in the end it is all up to you.
thing to learn, use 0800, not kreon
