@Larry, is there a guide here to restore my wii back to original condition even erase the log/message files if I ever need to send it in to get fixed?
Thanks

Hi,

I followed this guide to the letter and had no issues so far, but are now stuck at the part where I need to delete the IOS's using AnyTitle.

>> Select IOS version to use: <IOS222>

Pressing "Home" will let me exit
Pressing "A" freeze machine. pressing any button on remote only result in all LEDs on remote flassing. Only recovery possible is to keep console power button in until system hard shutdown.

After reading the changelog for AnyTitle I also copied the database.txt to the root of the SD. This made no difference.

Wii Console is on : 4.2E
AnyTitle version: 6b

Please advise troubleshooting steps.

This issue has come up a few times and answered. Please read past post. You may also need to try using a \different SD card if past post fixes don't work.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I should have mentioned before that I followed the previous advise:

Quote:
Try starting the guide from DOWNGRADE IOS15 to AnyTitleDleeter. Make sure do not get any error messages. (Except for AnyTitleDeleter which will give you errors)
.

And also swapped SD card.

None of those resolved my issue, unfortunately :-(

Why are you using a different AnyTitleDleter version other then what I have in the guide?

I was getting confused because I never had to select an IOS to run the installer. I then went back and noticed you are using a different version AnyTitleDeleter.

If members followed the guide and used the files that came with the softmod pack then all this should go smooth.

there use the AnyTitleDleter that I have in the softmod pack or you could try using IOS36 as the IOS to use to run the version of AnyTitleDeleter your using.

Resolved my AnyTitle Deleter issue.

Resolution: Change IOS to IOS36, press A.

It then work as expected. Might be wise to update the guide to reflect this for us noobs.

Great guide otherwise, thanks !!

Why update the guide?

You evidently didn't follow the guide and use the softmod pack files.

The 1 that comes in the softmod pack shouldn't ask you to select an IOS to use.

According to a few post above you evidently downloaded an entirly diffrent version of AnyTitleDeleter on your own.

You are correct, upon closer investigation, somehow I had another softmod pack on my SD :-(.

Hi Thanks, now I'm more confused, where do I find a USB Loader and how does it work. I apologize if these questions sound stupid but I'm new to all this. Thanks

But when I load a backup disk, I get the error message "DVD Read Error 1101". I have tried several dvds, some that work on a chip modded wii and a couple I burned using imgburn. I'm a newbie at this type of thing so I know I probably missed something, so any help would be greatly appreciated. My system is NTSC USA, will this mod allow PAL disks to be played as well. Thank you for your time and help
As stated in the guide if you get read error it is possible you have 1 of the newer drives that will not play backup disc. You will need to use a USB Loader instead.

Just google it man.

CFG Loader is the best loader to get at the moment. Give it a shot

Did you disconnect your SD card without ejecting properly?

Putting the files on your SD card isn't the cause of the issue. if you can't format the SD card then you may need a new SD card.

Your 4.2 guide is terrific! Thank you.

A couple of questions though that hopefully you or someone esle can answer:

Trying to use DVDDumper for USB, and it won't work. I plug in my Sandisk 2Gig Cruiser and get an error. However, the WiFi method works. IF I cannot get the thumb drive to work, is there a risk in me going out to buy a usb external hard drive? Also, what is Ghecko usb A and B? Different from the SD, USB option?

With the programs to softmod the wii installed on the SD card, does the SD card have to stay in the Wii now? I am using a 2 gig card, and I see people posting that they dump games to the SD card. Am i missing something? If so, where?

Again, thank you for the guide.

I have already answered this question.

In this thread? Must have missed it.

He said something to the effect of, "no, I won't write a guide to un-softmod, you shouldn't do it in the first place if you want to go back"

Hey, I would just like to say thanks for this guide before hand.

I followed it step by step, and the only problem i get is during the Hermes' IOS 222/223 section after installing the IOS 222 with the merge of IOS 38 and 37, when i go to do the 223 it fails to initialize. I have tried all the steps under the error part (restarted from the beginning, tried using a Network install instead of a WAD), but I always get stuck at this error, When i try to install thethe cIOS38_rev14 section again using Network it can not initialize either.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Oh i also forgot to add during the cIOS38 section it gives a nice Error of (ret = -116)
