Any suggestions???

I have a cheesy modchip...some FC chip, it can't update.
In searching, I came across some folks mentioning to remove the modchip if you plan on using the softmod and this should help with the #001 error message, but I don't know why Neogamma "Timed Out" on every disc.
Hi Larry. Any suggestions.

Additional note. The issue above is the same problem with 2 wii consoles. Yes, they both have the crappy FC chip that I mentioned. These consoles were modded 2 or 3 years ago with this chip.

I was looking to get feedback before I went in and pulled the chip out.

All I can suggest is update your modchip that fixes #001 error or take it out.

As for neoGamma make sure your choosing disc backup not USB loading. Other then that it could be the modchip causing the issues.

First of all Thanks for the excellent tutorial !!!

Before I post this question I have to say that i read All the posts, questions and answers, so here it goes...

After I do the softmod, which files\folders are safe to erase from Sd card?

Many thanks from Portugal and I wish all the community a Happy New Year.

Hi all, haven't posted for a while but thought i'd give this softmod a go as i have a crappy d2cpro chip in my wii and some newer games do not play.

I followed the guide as laid out and can play my old back ups no probs through neogamma. When i first completed the softmod the Just Dance game played no probs, the following day i started getting a 'Error: No DVD (n)' when trying to launch the game, i have 3 copies of the game and none play. However i softmodded a pals wii in exactly the same way and they all play fine on hers.

I went through the softmod process again to make sure i hadn't missed anything, but still getting the no dvd error? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
Donna

Thanks larrylje ! Great tut, got it working.

Question, Is there a way to bypass/replace the initial menu on power up since I don't have a GC controller, and hitting the power reset is a pain....?

Had the same problem when connected via a LAN Adapter. Changed to WIFI, then worked.

Try changing the lan adapter to the other USB port.

If that dosen't help look through past post. There was somone that had issues downloading via iFi/Adapter. I gave them a way to do it without connecting Wii to Internet. You can download neded files using PC.

Neo Gamma is working fine but I have a problem when the game is finsihed and I want to move back to the wii menu the systmen freeze and the video connection to the TV send no more signal? anything I did wrong??

the Homebrew does not show any more the different installation menu IO had in the begining before I softmod the console.

When trying with the Homebrew menu the BOOTMII the console DVD slot blinks and nothing happens?

thank you for your help

Quote:

i had this same problem, as when i installed hombrew and bootmii i only had a 128mb sd card and couldnt do the nand backup. So i got a 1gig sd card and put that in and got the same thing as u. hombrew would loud then press home and goto bootmii and the control would lose connection and the screen would be black and the blue slot light would just blink.

So i thought maybe its cause the files are not on the new 1gb sd card. installed them on there and tried again with no luck same thing.

So i installed the original 128mb sd card and it worked i got into bootmii, so i then changed to the 1gb sd card and did the backup that way.

So are we to assume larry that bootmii on the newer systems that use bootmii as ios that u need the original sd card in to actually use bootmii?

And now that i have a backup on a different sd card will that matter in anyway?
WiiDamo
Thanks Man for the info
In fact I have formated the original SD Card on which i made the softmod update and the NAND backup and left the SD Card blank in the console. So apparently this is why Hombrew and BootMii are not running.
Do I have to reinstall the whole process again? or need to make selective steps?
Larry appreciate your guidance in this.

I don't know what problem the previous person had and I am not about to dig through the past post to find it. If you want help you need to be more specific on what the issue is. Also as to the Trucha Restore version your using. You should be using the 1 that came with the softmod guide.

My guidence is do a little research on how HBC and Bootmii works. Then you will know why your having the issues your having.

As for NeoGamma not exiting properly I couldn't tell you the reason why. if you installed everything properly it should work.

What IOS files are you downloading with NUS?

The four that you have listed. I believe i did it right, ive done the card twice.

Database>IOS>IOS15>v257

Database>IOS>IOS15>v523

Database>IOS>IOS36>v3351

Database>IOS>IOS38>v3610

I got the 4 wad files, so i assume I did it right, i don't know.

IOS15-64-v257.wad

IOS15-64-v523.wad

IOS36-64-v3351.wad

IOS38-64-v3610.wad

You ticked the PACK WAD box before downloading the above IOS files?

You dragged the created wad files themselves to the SD card root (not the folders)?

If you did everything the way it should then it should work. You may need to try using a different SD card.

Formating will just delete the Mii/Game Saves/Channels. It will not have any impact on IOS/cIOS that have been installed.

Even if it was previously softmoded it shouldn't effect following the guide.

So you might want to try a different SD Card.
