Hi, great guide and everything! But I have a huge problem!
When I was done with the guide I was trying to go to the System Menu. But all I get up is the Preloader with a error:
"Error autobooting system menu!
ES_DiVerfiy faild!"

What can I do to fix this?

Thanks!

Hi Larry,

Wondered if you could possibly help. I have followed your guide and it all works great. I am trying to play Band Hero currently. I know I can't use Neogamma to run it (IOS 249) so I installed cIOSCORP 3.6 so I could run it from the disc channel. It runs fine but the resolution is off. Have you ever come across this? Its on a PAL Wii. Could it just be a bad iso, or does the resolution not always work with cIOSCORP?

As the guide states please start a new thread for game specific questions.

Please start a new thread for Preloader issues. I am not going to go through issues with an application that isn't even used in the guide.

Thanks Man for the info
In fact I have formated the original SD Card on which i made the softmod update and the NAND backup and left the SD Card blank in the console. So apparently this is why Hombrew and BootMii are not running.
Do I have to reinstall the whole process again? or need to make selective steps?
Larry appreciate your guidance in this.
My guidence is do a little research on how HBC and Bootmii works. Then you will know why your having the issues your having.

As for NeoGamma not exiting properly I couldn't tell you the reason why. if you installed everything properly it should work.
Larry
First I would like to thank you for the great Job you are doing
thanks to you now my Kids are now able to run all kind of games using NeoGamma.

The other issue is that do I need to keep some of the files I installed initially on SD following your procedure to be able to run HBC ?? In fact do I Need HBC any more??

so if nintendo made 4.2 so you can't use homebrew then this mod lets you use back upped games anyway? The new ones too?

I always get stuck at the Hermes' IOS 222/223 part...When I try merging 38 with 37 it starts initializing for 2 minutes then it says failure.. I tried doing the whole process a couple of times now

1. The Trucha Bug Restorer works flawlessly

2. Since i've started from the beinning a couple of times, there are no IOS222 and IOS223, only 249 and 250 , which i always delete yet again. Contrary to the guide i don't get any error messages here.

3.a. I do the wad installation for ISo 36, it goes perfect but at the Hermes part it says failed to allocate temp buffer and failure to acquire the IOS38 file, no such file or directory...

3.b. The same thing happens if i do newtork installation for ISO36

The internet connection can't be bad, because i just bought a lan adapter and used that to upgrade to 4.2

I've done everything perfectly again and again, i've tried formatting my wii and putting the stuff on the sd card anew and i always get stuck at this part.... so i think the cIOS 222 installer must have some kind of problem. Maybe the place it wants to download from doesn't exist anymore?

Any ideas on what may be wrong? :(

I just purchased a wii, and unfortunately updated to 4.2 before digging in. Received the above error when trying this mod. Can anyone make recommendation for backup options? At this point, I believe I have none. I have homebrew installed but no bootmii or preloader. TIA

Try switching the LAN Adapter to the other USB slot.

You have been answered. As well it is agaisnt rules to BUMP threads.

If it says that bootmii can not install as Boot2 then you have to install as an IOS. Read the guide!

You should have at least IOS249 IOS250. Make sure your pressing - and = and look at all pages.

Try updating the Wii again. If you still don't see the IOS under SYSTEM TITLES then go ahead and try finishing the guide.

Yes it is.

Try following the steps I gave a few pages back (page 14). The member was having the same issue as you.
