Hello, Anyone know how i can play my games with action replay max with the flip top? I tried, putting the action replay disc in first, then the swap disc then the game, but the codes didn't work. Is there any particular order I need to follow? Thanks for any help in advance!

Does the ID util need to be on CD-R, as my PS2 doesn't read the swap magic cd ver? It's not the disc it's the PS2 as i've tried a friends disc and it didnt read.
So if I try it on DVD-R, load swap magic dvd ver and then swap over with slide card for the ID util. Will it work ok when I insert the real game after the ID util has loaded, to actually get the ID?
That is my only question, I know how to do the rest.
Funny really, that short guide at the start is a few lines where other sites i've seen give an entire page for a guide. Nice and simple is the way to get the job done!
EDIT: Never mind about the dvd question, i found a thread that tells me I can get a dvd version. However is this memory card exploit needed, and what is this exploit?

Anyways I have another question, I know how to do it with the disc ID util and Image patcher. However it says somewhere that not all games work with Image patcher and that I need Disc ID insertor.
I know where to get Disc ID insertor but is it different to use than Image patcher?
Also is there a list where it tells which games will work with a Image patcher or Disc ID inserter patch?
So can someone clarify this please?
GETTING DNAS:
Download burn Disc ID util(DVD in my case).
Boot swap magic dvd and swap it for the disc ID util like I would a game then press X.
When the Disc ID util loads insert the real game then record the Disc ID.
Step 2
Backup game with DVD decrypter
Step 3
Scan file with image patcher and insert the ID that was recorded earlier into the boxes and hit patch.
OR
Use Disc ID inserter
(Which is what has me, the steps I have listed I can follow and have compiled them from sources on this site. How do I use Disc ID inserter, and do I need any more programs to use disc ID inserter?)
Step 4
Burn the image to DVD-R with decrypter
Thanks in advance :)

I'm having problems with the patching. I followed all the instructions as posted on THIS page: h**p://www.ps2nfo.com/on-line.html
and I'm not sure if I got it to work. I used a disk ID from SOCOM I (which I own) for another game but when I put the burned game back into the PS2 running the DiskIDUtility it showed up to three different DIsk IDs. Each time I hit the X button a new one would load. It started out as "00 00 00 00 00", then I hit "X" and it came up as some other disk ID that wasn't the SOCOM one, then I hit X again and it came up different. I kept hitting X but the third time it went back to "00 00 00 00 00". Any ideas? It still connected and I was able to play but I'm afraid to use it incase it's still using the original Disk ID which other people could be using as well and I would get banned. What do you all think?

1. socom 1 doesnt have dnas, so you cant use the code from that.
2. you cannot use the disc id utility on burned games, you will just get random numbers.

Sly,
Thanks for the response. Is there any way I can tell which game has DNAS? Do you happen to know if Maddeon '03 has it? I guess I can plug them into the computer and look for DNAS files. Well at least you gave me a direction to go in, I appreciate it.

no, madden 03 doesn't have it either. i don't know if 04 even has it. any of the newer games have it. If you load it up in the disc id utility and you don't get the same number every time you hit x, it doesn't have dnas (and 00 00 00 00 00 doesn't count).

use the disc id insertor. it may look a little more complicated but it's really not. ID insertor should no doubt about it work.

actually its not as simple as looking for the dnas files as offline games have these aswell...
every online game on ps2 has dnas checking after socom 1 pal(not ntsc) allthough the PAL dnas doesnt work aswell as it does now. However you still need to patch socom 1 PAL (again not ntsc) use this as a guideline and all new games that are online have dnas protection......

It is simple. You only patch it if you intend to go online. There may be minor(and I mean minor) performance issues but they are barely noticeable.
Get ID with ID util, Back up game image, iso buster to extract the DNAS files, id insertor to patch the ID to the DNAS files, Winimage to inject the DNAS id into the game image and then DVD Decrypter to burn.
And do you not think people would use common sense to check any online compatible game had DNAS before they backed it up.

I followed all of the steps on PS2 NFO to play my backup of WWE Smackdown vs Raw online. All i got is a black screen. The files for smackdown vs raw was originally Bin and Cue but i converted it to .iso . Then I followed the instructions patched the game burn and insert the disc and all i get is a black screen after the ps2 logo.

Maybe it's cuz it's a DVD-rip. At least that what it sounds like cuz bin n cue are associated with cd games.

it means you downloaded it. The original was a dvd, so they had to cut things out so it would fit on cd (probably the online stuff).
