i have a copy of nfsu(original)and backed it up,patched it and it worked fine(too bad my connection is bad)and my original thug2 cd broke so i used the nfsu code and used it on one of my discs.the first pirate said error -402 and the new one says -864.both are pal/uk.whats going wrong over here?

anyway,im having a problem playing ntsc/usa games online.it keeps showing the error -833.is it b-cuz there are 2 ids 4 the game?b4 my found out i had to patch these my original disc broke and i had to hunt down ids on the web.i found them and saw 2.i took the first one and tried to patch the second one(it didnt start with dnas though)but it didnt accept.so i burnt it,and 5 minutes ago i got error -833.my ps2 was in malaysia.didnt quite remember the reigon they imported it from cuz the network adapter blocked it.tho,i never wanted to unscrew it cuz i ALWAYS play online.strangely,how come my need for speed underground works and tony hawk's underground doesnt work,they're both underground games!!!!(get it?)

i wouldn't be surprised if your ps2 is banned from online gaming now. If you found the id on the web, so did sony.

I made a backup of my socom 2 and gave it to my friend so we can both play online, but when he gets on it says a cheat device has been detected and it kicks him off and bans him for an hour. Im assuming it thinks hes using a gameshark or somthing, because hes using the new swap magic 3.3 i think on a slimline ps2. Is there any way around this, because if there isnt i could always give him my 2nd copy i bought of the game.

No, its because you both are using the same dnas id. If hes not careful, he might get banned perminatly.

ok, nevermind that, I don't think you can get online with a socom 2 backup. They ban your ps2 machine id.

alright, thanks anyway Sly, o also we were both connected at one point, but as soon as he goes onto a universe it gives him the chet device message, but we wereboth at the universe select menu at one point, so i dont know, i heard theres a way to patch somthing into your disc so it bybasses dnas, have you heard of any such thing?

you going to just have to search on socom 2. Last i knew of, no one was able to get online with a backup of it.

thanks again Sly so you cant play backups of socom 2 online but i have played other backups online such as MK deception, call of duty, the new ratchet and clank and all these work, so why cant socom 2 be played online

i found the ps2 machine id changer somewhere and burnt it but lost it somewhere.but ill burn it again if i get banned online.2bad the new games dont have ids posted on any forums cuz my cousin(cleverly)took all the cds away.i came to his house and he said he has no clue.*frustration*.lil kids.so i had to download the images and when i played a us copy of mortal kombat deception,it didnt show a dnas error.instead the eerie music kept playing and the 'scorpion connecting to scorpion'sprite was still moving.but the game had actually jammed.i know cuz i left the ps2 on for an hour.why does all my other games show the error and mortal kombat deception just jams?

hey guys is thr any way i can play my killzone (ntsc) online wit my PAL ps2?......i tried to patch killzone (ntsc) wit a NTSC id but it doesnt work it gives me dnas -833 error (region error).....if i use PAL id to patch, will it work?

i just found out tht u can play diff region games on ur ps2 wit machine id changer....but it doesnt seem to work for me....the id changer doesnt chnge my machines :S......whn i restart its styll the same.....my ps2 is version 9 or 10 (im not sure but its da silver 1).......im using core id changer....will paradox id changer work for me?

Hello,
This is my first post that i have to do. This site is incredible and has answered all my questions without any problems. I am now in the process of backing up my online enabled games. I have read how to do it, but I can not download the required programs. They are not accepting new members at www.ps2ownz.com. i am getting dnas error 864, ...i have a few games that work online, and they have the same dnas id on them all, but this last game which is nba street v3 isnt working, any reason why?...and what does dnas error 864 mean?

A .864 error is a "Invalid DNAS Disc ID." which is a Media Error.
-864 - Invalid media, e.g. using CD-R and DVD-R discs against the production server, or using manufactured discs against the development server.
If it's not broken, break it.
