Here are the details of my system: p4 1.8 ghz 533 fsb, 512 3200 RAM, Western Dig. 7200 rpm 200 gig hd, Sony DVD-Rom, TDK 2.4x DVD-RW.

I wanted to back up my copy of the "Last Waltz" a documentary on The Band's last concert. I went into shrink, followed the directions, as posted on this website, deleted some of the extras and ripped. I did not do deep scan. The time informed me that it would take 1 hour 20 min! The DVD before shrinking is 7.5 gigs. Should it really be taking this long? What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Hi mollymags
Welcome to the forums. Your computer setup seems ok. Have you checked your DMA settings on the drives. For further details see http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/storage/IDE-DMA.mspx and the following thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/78814
I run a P4 2.4ghz 512 ram and 800 gig of hard drive space. It takes me about an hour to rip, deep scan, shrink and burn.

So enabling the DMA mode should clear up the problem? I'm at work, so I will have to try tonight. Thanks for the advice.
