I am using windows xp home edition , can anyone tell me why when backing up my dvd`s using shrink v3.1.7 it takes around 1 and a half hours to encode and burn using nero 6 ??? is there anything i can do to speed this process up as its taking far too long ? I have a friend who uses windows 98 and he is doing the whole process a lot faster !! the drive i use to read and burn the dvd is BTC dvd-+ cd-r/rw writer 8 x !! can someone help please ??
Hi , im sorry but I am not that experienced with all the difficuly goings on with a pc so could you give me step by step instructions as to what i should do to speed this process up !!!
I have went through the link you gave me and checked my pc , the dma settings are ultra dma mode 5 , this appears to be correct but im still not able to shrink and burn a dvd under 1 hour and 52 mins ????? What would be the problem ???
Burn time using Nero 6 is roughly 30 to 45 mins
Compression time can be anything from 1 hour to 1 and a half hours
Im not using deep analysis
And last but not least is I only compress a little , i usualy try and leave a little grey part so as not to burn the entire dics !!
Ok, your Burn times are far too long for an 8x or a 4x writer. You theoretically should be getting around 15mins at 4x, 8 at 8x. What Firmware have you got installed on the wirter, you may need to update it. Also what media are you using.
NB: The firmware Hacks available will allow increased ripping speeds and will speed up the rip/compression in Nero...
