Hi
My games started to freeze with the sound still playing so i decided to apply the xclamp fix. it didn't solve the problem, so i did the penny fix witch didn't solve it either.
What other solutions do i have before going to the heatgun fix ? (these are kinda expensive here)
regards

After the xclamp fix do you overheat the console? You should do the llamma xclamp fix and overheat the gpu while cooling the cpu.
http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair/rin...x-clamp_fix.htm
It sounds like the ram is having continuity issues and is causing the console to freeze. If the penny trick didn't work the only other options are to whip out the heatgun or get the board reflowed.

yes i overheated the GPU alot while cooling the cpu.
i think the problem like you said is the memory.
I think i will borrow a heatgun from someone and try.
Can you point me to a good tutorial to heatgun only the memory?
thank's for the reply !

The link in my sig will reflow the ram. It's good to spread the heat around the board rather than focusing only on one component.

Just get a reflow. The heatgun fix and towel fix are liable to trash your xbox. Reflows only cost like 35 bucks. Definitely cheaper than a new xbox, and really effective as well.
When you have a reflow done, make sure you undo your xclamp and penny fix first. Those honestly just break even more solder balls. Not very good fixes.

if i can a place where i can reflow it (wich i doubt it) i will do it, if not then i will use the heatgun and then post results here.
Regards and thanks for the replies :)

I did a oven reflow,
and now it starts to boot but the ring doesn't light up, only the center light, and after about 60 seconds it gets ROD...
Always, even without AV cable (with 4 red lights blinking) it still gets ROD after those 60 seconds...
I melted the sync button i can't see the error code...
What can it be?

Probably 0022 (this error takes ages to show up). People say it's bridged solder under the GPU but it could be a cold joint and possibly under the southbridge.

Consoles:
XBOX360 Falcon console with Lite-On 74850C
PS3 80gb phat model with 120gb hdd
PS3 60gb model
PS3 modded on 3.55

Get a reflow (expensive), or Heat Gun the GPU and Southbridge using the link in w00ly's sig as a tutorial (make sure to keep the heat moving).

Just out of interest Budro, did you have a bad experience with the heatgun fix? I found it fixes bout 80% or so RROD (when combined with xclamp removal & flux). I have melted a few eject & sync buttons, but all I do is add extra protection on them when I do the fix. I haven't had any returns yet either.
Dont get me wrong, I do agree a proper re-flow (with a rework station) is the way to go if you have access, but not many people do.

I would never ever ever put a 360 in the oven, if heatgun fails then thats me done!
Pl4za try the heatgun method, if you dont have one, then buy one. They are like £10

why would any put their xbox in an oven? All the fixes in this thread will do ruin your xbox. Here's why:
1.) Penny fix (Flexes motherboard and will crack solder even more)
2.) Oven (you've got to be kidding) Melt your xbox?
3.) Xclamp is a temp fix and will eventually RR again
More than likely you're destroying your xbox.
