Verizon Wireless and Skype today have announced Skype Mobile will be available to Verizon subscribers beginning tomorrow, the 25th of March. what's so ridiculous is that in anticipation of having to eventually allow skype usage over their networks both verizon and at&t completely did away with their data only rate plans. now they make you have to have voice services regardless to suck more money out of their customers.

Not true. Verizon still offers its $50 data only plan- it's just hidden away under the business plans on the website. I was using it plus Skype on WinMo for almost a year.

uh no, verizon and at&t both had personal data only rate plans for smart phones for 35$. the $30 bolt on plan is available for devices that have voice services but smart phone users also had the option of having only data and no voice. this was changed only recently.
