nobody has mentioned eire at the present time and the boxes have stopped working in eire since august of 2009 so his starview 4 would have been well dead at this stage as he is in the uk

Little confused don't know if this is the right place. My current samsung box with new n3 card is connected to coax cable from outside, another cable goes into the modem for broadband. So how do vir* send down key updates via coax. The box isn't connected to the internet. So if i do get a kryptview, Ihave to connect it to the internet to connect to a server. How does this server connect to the cs? Why can't I connect my computer to the cs and a kryptview to it to. What I'm trying to get at is, there must be away to avoid connecting to a server over the internet to get vir* tv. The kryptview has to be connected to the internet via lan cable and to the main feed as well. So the server is only providing key updates, but the actual stream is coming from the main cable feed, right? or wrong?

that is not a question to be answered buy the box and it works the box needs to be connect to the incoming cable feed as well as your broadband

Theoretically this may be possible as it is the only the keys needed but realistically your box needs to be connected to both as when the updates are needed it will look to the c/s server for them. So having it all shared out through your PC would probably mean a very disrupted service for you depending on update speeds & throughput etc.
Like e45 says - the solution is to have the internet & cable feed going to your box.

And V***in would have sent you your own card if you paid for the service so you wouldn't need any broadband as you'd have the card locally. If that's what you prefer then fork up the moulagh for it!!! :-)
