i have just had good read of this thread and im still laughing if i where him id forget about ps2 and xbox and just play with my rubix cube it's cheaper just dont try to do any mods to it

Other than common sense and etiquette, the farthest stretches of my imagination can't think of a single rule he has actually broken other than maybe not using the search function or something.

I dont know you... I dont pretend to but if you present yourself to people in a certain way - be glad you see them mocking you. Not everyone has (a) parents who let their kids work or (b) the luxury of time to get a job (i.e., school commitments). 'sides a lot of it has to do with how people were brought up and its certainly not for you, me or really anyone to judge :)

Yes you all should give the kid a break and yes Rubix you do need to take some time and chillout or whatnot -- if you read the posts over with a clear, objective mind you will agree that most of the root problems were just simple mistakes and misunderstandings. Perhaps the rest of the people here where a tad harsh or whatnot and perhaps it wasnt fair since you might very well have made an honest mistake or were misinformed etc but you do need to treat other people here with respect if you want any in return. Mistakes happen all the time, people move on.

- Take some time and chill out (if you want to), then take a look at the thread again. I will say that, although you did not start any confrontation or what not, you did not exactly seek out a peaceful solution either.
- Anything people here on the forums tell you (myself included), you should take with a grain of salt -- they may have good intentions or not but common sense and a third opinion cant hurt
- Just looking on the first page of posts, in case you didnt know it yet, getting other people's respect (whether you think you want/need it or not) is not obtained by boasting nor pointing fingers and blaming.

- With respect to your second post -- I myself dont know jack about consoles yet I've managed to come across Affterdawn -- so yes it does seem comprehendible
- With respect to your third post, that idea has been proposed before however -- i'm sure there are many lurkers out there who know more then 'newbies' and ocassionaly post here and there. I dont think an elitist message board is what AD is trying to obtain. :)

- Provided Rubix stops 'mouthing off' lets all forget this crap happened and move on with our lives, we arent getting any younger here and as "reasonable adults/human-beings" lets move on already
- I know a lot of heated debates can happen in Consoles but christ cant civility prevails? Flaming gets nobody anywhere.

yep, it sucks sometimes not to get to join in on the fun of slamming people, but thats not why we come here now is it?
Rubix - 17 or 71, makes no difference, you can still act accordingly. same goes for all the other members that fueled this guy's attitude. Time for everyone to take a breath, step back, and let this one come to a close.

Don't usually come to the xbox forum but I saw the fliptop mentioned so I decided to take a look. I must say that this thread has been rather interesting... Anyway, despite the problems rubix has come across he has the fliptop installed and is on his way. All you need now, rubix, are the following:
1. The swap magic discs http://www.modchipkits.com/pages/swapmagic.htm
2. A dvd burner (preferably an external usb since you seem to encounter problems when opening up electronic devices :-))
3. A burning program. I recomend DVD Decrypter (it's free.)

Perhaps, perhaps not: i'm not making a judgement call (anymore). We all just need to work together to make and keep Afterdawn a fun place to come to and share ideas, problems etc.
If there's only one thing we all learn from this let it be to be more open-minded and tolerant. Whether you were right or wrong, whether Rubix was out of line or not, we can all move on and -- avoid each other's post if you must but let's keep this a happy forum oki? :)

Praetor...people do want to help out on here but it's not fair when a guy cannot even differentiate between an Xbox and a PS2. There are many good members who don't post on here anymore or very little because they are tired of answering the same old questions from A to Z. I sucked at doing this four to five months ago and didn't really understand many of the posts because I didn't know what I was doing. But, I started to read the forums then I asked educated questions. I think we are all working together but I think it is questions like this that frustrate each and every one of us.

Believe me I understand. Although I can differentiate between a Xbox and a PS2 I couldnt begin to tell you jack crap all about mods and such to them (if thats even what the fliptop thing is). I understand things arent perfectly fair but hey - we live in an imperfect world and we just have to deal with it you know? I'm not asking that we all play hold hands and sing kum-bai-ya but just to be civilized and stuff -- if the question doesnt appeal to you just let it go and answer another one you know? We can all afford to be a little more civilized (heck even diplomats of countries at war are civilized).
