article published on 15 November, 2010

The devs that created PSJailbreak have revealed breaking news today, a downgrading software that will allow PS3 users with firmwares above 3.41 to jailbreak their consoles. PSDowngrade says jailbreaking is now open to all 44 million PS3 owners. Typo:

Quote:
you can downgrade to 3.12
It should be 3.15.

Anyway, if this works on every PS3 from now on up to firmware 9000, this will be really good to guarantee a JB for anyone. Maybe I can wait until I find a real cheap used PS3 instead of getting one now, cause I really want a PS3 just to mess around with. Homebrew is coming along nicely, and I can imagine a ton of improvements to the XMB and hopefully some sort of custom OS in the future.

Hahaha

You can Sux it!!!!

lets see how this folds out over the next few weeks with the response from Sony. Not sure if they are going to give up just yet, i am sure they don't want to be laughed at like the PSP.

Just give the people what they want, there may not be such a war next time then.

Can't see how this would work as older firmwares won't connect to PSN.

At this moment in time no one knows what Sony can see or know about your PS3 while it's jailbroken and connected to the PSN.

it's a shame really all this jail broken stuff.

The original PSJailbreak device cost over $100, but soon an open-source variant was released, giving would-be jailbreakers a chance to open up their systems using devices they may already own, such as Dual Shock controllers, Sansa players, iPods and USB Dev boards.

So hows it free cus you say at the end

PSJailbreak + PSDowngrade costs $125.
Isn't open source if you have to pay for it is it?

Sony should open up the system, add software tools for amateur developers + encourage homebrew, add support for Open OS and leave a little thank you note to PS3 owners with a ps - dont pirate games message.

People would actually warm to Sony instead of fighting against it.

Are you retarded? Go to Original Post and REREAD! The open source software was written after Jailbreak team announced the PSJB and the cost was stupid. SOMEONE found a way to crack that PSJB and recreate it with open source. READ READ READ! P.S. READ MORE! Oh, and have a great day! lol

So your saying they used open source to then make there own version and charge $125.
Im confused here.
Its like me using the open source for the greenpoision, inputting my name into the source, making it a executable again and charging for it.
By definition an open-source variant is public domain allowing users to alter as they see fit.
So like i said im a bit confused about it so less of the retard comments as you just show yourself to be retarded when some one asks a simple question.

Oh, and have a nice day urself.

P.S tbh all i was looking for was the open source version for android as i just converted my windows smartphone to a android.
Oh and that was with FREE open souce sofware!

Seeing as though I have a psjailbreak, is there anywhere to download the PSDowngrade software from?

I should have added "for free"
