When I burnt my first few dvds I used dvd shrink, but the copies kept blocking through the movies. I moved onto dvd x copy which worked fine,but now this seems to not wont to copy any more (when i put in a blank it says finaling, then fails) . I want to move back to using dvd shrink, i have nero, but i am not sure if this was the problem in the begining, or if it was the media (datawrite red & yellow). Should I try another burning program. Is there anything better than this combo?

Try DVD43(free) and Nero recode, since you already have Nero. Easy to use with wonderful results that keep a functioning menu. Your media : Verbatim or Ritek G04's ( the latter can be gotten at Meritline for .69-.71ea. with free shipping).

What version of XCopy are you using? And what do you mean the copies kept blocking? I would try different media, I like using Verbatim branded and TDK.

It comes down to preference... There are many ways to backup, all work if done right. And its always nice to know other ways to back up.
