Hi AKY,
Certainly, If you have the same issue with your original, It is not a burn problem. So it is either the orginal that is faulty or it is a modchip issue.
If you test with your original and modchip deactivated and it works, then it is a modchip issue. If even with the modchip deactivate you cannot make you original work then the prob is with the original disc.

Reason I mentionned the bad burn, I had this where a game would play well for a while a stop at a certain point with the famous pink screen. I would reburn at very slow speed on a good quality media and then it would work.

Anyway hope it helps, try to deactivate the modchip with the original then you will know where is the issue.

;) soso

At first i had the problem with swap magic when i clicked on the single player option after the game loaded up it went black and stayed blakc for like ever. i tried it with the dvd loader and still no luck.

SWAP MAGIC PEOPLE(any version ps2)this is how u get it to work. Load up your swap magic dvd like you were goin to play one of your other normal back ups and when it comes up with the ***INSERT DISC*** flying through space screen put in the v7all dvd loader and when it loads up to the press x screen press x and you should be left with a screen with options. Pick option 5v3 NO PN and push x on it. it will then take you back to the screen you were just on with press x. eject the disc tray and put your swap magic disc back in then push x when the push x words come back up it will then say insert game using EA method. This means open the top take out the swap magic disc and put in the game( in this case Splinter cell: pandora tomorrow) then push X. this loads up and now you can get past the single player F**ked up bit which really pisses people off(pardon my french) If anyone wants me to send the dvd loader then email me on robbie_balboa@hotmail.com or add me wateva. Hope ive helped and ive tried to make these instructions as dummy proof as possible so ive names this post: THE DUMMIES GUIDE TO LOADING UP SPLINTER CELL: PANDORA TOMORROW. Hehe. Please reply and tell me if this works for all swap magic people or not or even if it works for people without swap magic. fell free to email me with sucesses and praises haha :P GOOD LUCK PEOPLE and when i need help you betta help cheers Robbie

That method has been tried already by many many people with no avail. For now, those of us with v7+ PS2s are not getting anywhere fast. Thanks for the attempt and you are one lucky SOB for getting it to work for you.

My PS2 is a v7+ (V7 or V8 i think not 100%) and if u follow that exactly it sould work if it dosent here are the things i used. DVD Decrypter at 2X read and 2X write with Ritek Arita G03 1x/2x dvd-r very cheap and very good quality, blessed with the world famous Ritek G03 dye. Cost me £7.25 for a 25 pack. No problems with any of my back ups only wasted 1 cd with my stupidity. (canceled during a burn oops :S)i burnt Pandora tomorrow using this method and it had the single player problem so i followed the steps shown above which i called: THE DUMMIES GUIDE TO LOADING UP SPLINTER CELL: PANDORA TOMORROW and it works fine now i just follow that each time now and its fine so im not a lucky SOB there must be other people who can do it if i can i mean i am only 15 years old and i can back up dvd's better than alot of adults a mean cumon it isnt that hard. i guarantee that if you follow all the instructions i have given you will have a working copy of pandora tomorrow. thats DVD Decrypter 3.2.3.0, Ritek Arita G03 dvd-r's, read speed x2 write speed x2, Swap magic dvd(i have 2.0dvd version dont supose it makes a difference),and v7all DVDLOADER (option 5v3 NO PN). Oh yeah if you dont like what i give to help dont call me a SOB thanks Robbie. If you have sucesses or non sucesses plz let me know. If you dont even try it tehn dont bother replying saying people have tried it because if people have tried it and it hasent worked dosent mean it wont work for you, after all i have tried it and it has worked for me so it is bound to work for someone else. Hope i have helped, let me know. Robbie

Hey SSnake!

I have been on this link waiting for the fix to the V7 for Splinter Cell-Pandora Tomorrow for a few weeks now and thought I might get it to work via the DVDLoader as you and many have suggested, so I downloaded what seemed to be the newest version DVDLoader_b52.rar file and burned it to a DVD+RW, stuck it into my PS2 AFTER I got the "insert disk" message from the Swap Magic 3, only to get ultimate red boarders around the insert disk screen and then the big freeze, NO OPTIONS (I'm sure I did somethign wrong). Did I download the wrong DVDloader file? Is there a right one for V7? I am having the same problem with Mafia as well. A link and specific file to download would be apprecaited. Also, since this is a DVD based game, I assume I need to burn it to the DVD as well through Alcohol 120% or something similar? Any hints would appreciated.

Hi hrdbawl mate!

Ok i noticed a little problem with what you've done. You have burned the DVDloader onto a DVD+RW. you should really burn it onto a DVD-R because the PS2 and most things (DVD players etc) recognize that media the best. when i tried to back up my first game i used a DVD+RW and had no luck at all im sure thats your real problem. What size roughly was the burned image? It could be a bit of both because you could be burning the wrong file to the wrong dvd Hehe, but im sure its just the media you are using. Try it with using a DVD-R if you have them and if it still dosent work email me and ill email u the DVDloader if i can find it and ill tell you how to burn it also. Let me know how it goes. if it works follow the instruction i posted not last but the one before(4 up i think) ;) cheers Robbie

My dad has another new one and i was wondering if it is possible to back up Swap magic DVD version itself? i tried but it would let me is there any way of doing it? DVD decrypter didnt read the Swap Magic DVD version. If there is a newer version let me know how i can get it cheers. Robbie

It works for you because you have the PAL version, am I correct? For those of us with the NTSC version then your method does NOT work.

If you have tried it and failed then yes you may be correct but if you have not and are just guessing then try it and see. Yes i have PAL version but i dont see why it would make a big difference if it is feezing at the exact same place, and has all the exact same symptoms then it should have the exact same cure. If you have two people and they both have lets say cholera then they would need the exact same cure as each other right? just because one is called Carol(Pal) and the other is called amula-jabiron-hacksavabon(NTSC) ofcourse i may be wrong and probably am but i was only trying to help but i know that it will work for PAL users if it works for me and i have a PAL version. cheers for pointing it out. Robbie still try it and tell me how it goes.;)

Actually, I just read off of ps2ownz that you need Gameshark 2 v2 or Action Replay to get it to boot on v7+ consoles.

Instructions can be found here: http://www.ps2ownz.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21616&page=2&pp=15

YES!!

Give thanks to SSDragongoku and PS2OWNZ.com for this!!!

This is exact instructions for getting Splinter Cell : Pandora Tomorrow working on a v9 usa ps2 by using Gameshark2 v2 or earlier and also used a fulldvd backup of Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow not ripped.

Load up cdloader first, when it loads then fliptop swap with the Gameshark 2 v2 or below and hit x, then just hit start or x and choose "Without Codes" then hit x then press eject and insert the dvd swap magic disc and hit x, when the dvd swap magic disc loads then fliptop swap to dvdloader v7 all and hit x, when dvdloader v7all loads, then hit x and choose 5v3 no pn and hit X again, when your back at the main dvdloader v7all screen, then press eject and insert the dvd swap magic disc again and hit X. When "Put in a dvdr by ea method and press x to play" shows up then fliptop swap to your backup of Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and hit X. This will take care of the problem with the loading stopping at the "o".

This method works for action replay also follow this link http://www.ps2ownz.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21616&page=2&pp=15

Hello all,

I'm basically a newB and rarely post, but seeing that some of you have had the same problem I've had with mine, I'm hoping to repay some of the help I've gotten in the past.

The problem: you hit the "New Game" choice and get the "red vortex" screen (asking for a valid disk). This was the same problem I had with the first Splinter Cell game and I have it again with Pandora Tomorrow. With the original, I had to get past the obstacle course using my original disc, and I was able to use my B/U after that. However, I had to reboot after each save (having gotten the "red vortex" again).

I read something about "ejecting the disc momentarily during load/save" and am happy to say that it seems to be working well for me. For clarity, here's what I did beyond the norm to get it to work:

1) selected new (single player) game
2) as soon as the screen went black, I ejected the disk using the eject button
3) paused for maybe 1-2 sec and pressed the eject button to reload the disc

It took a moment to load, then progressed normally.

I have a magic 3.4 (if I remember correctly... it's already got the sleeve built in so there were only about 7 solder points) and these are the only games that have ever given me serious trouble (once I got rid of the memorex disks). By the way, I now use some cheap Verbatim DVD+R discs and they work flawlessly (knocking on wood).

My $0.02 on backups, by the way: given that I have a 10-month-old, I'd B/U my PS2 if I could... and the VCR... and the TV... ad nauseum ad infinitum.... The government does a wonderful job on a lot of things, and I think that our representatives do listen to their constituents... at least the ones that speak the loudest. We can't afford lobbyists to protect our rights on our own, so I encourage everyone with an opinion to write simple letters to their congressmen, and give a buck to a PAC that you believe in... whether it's the NRA or MoveOn. You can't be heard if you don't speak.

When I was a kid I looked at my Odyssey, I looked at the movie screen, and I dreamed that one day they would meet. So now I have a PS2 (v9), a 56" widescreen, and digital sound. I feel as though I have arrived.
