PlayStation-maker seeks boost in sales to regain ground on Xbox 360. Sony announced that it will cut the price of its PlayStation 3 (PS3) consoles to push up sales and prepare for the holiday season. The announcement comes on the eve of GamesCon, the biggest gaming trade show held in Europe. Sony has also confirmed a PS3 price cut to £199 in the UK.

They need to stop charging $50 more to upgrade the $20 hard drive to a $30 model if they are worried about being a rip-off.

great price in the UK for a 320gig PS3 should see a bump in sales over xmas. if any one is ripping people of it is Xbox with there 4gig model. killerbug for a company you hate you sure do spend a lot of time reading about them.

Why?

It has been selling @ Tesco for £119 - and there's a £5 off code you take off of that too.

A Western digital drive is no big deal on top of that (£30?).

Soon the 320gb WD drives will be identified & we can use them too.
