Normally $10 is for the grandmothers, more like $30 for a 5 page site. These idiots lost half a million+ in less time than it takes to get in & out of a weekend bachelor party in Vegas.

Yeah, it's important to remember domain registration, and the free webpages that go with it, are actually a small part of their business. Where they make a lot more money are the hosting and email plans, particularly when you start adding on a few extras. Even for a relatively low end account, you can easily get up to $40 - $50 a year for a single domain.
Not a big fan of Godaddy after finding out they sell domain names in bulk so spammers can pay less than $5 per domain. Cheap disposable domains they throw away after about a week, making it impossible to block. Godaddy was also hosting the e-mail on some of them as well. What legitimate business needs to buy hundreds of random domains at a time?
