Microsoft has dropped the price for a Windows 8 Pro upgrade, from the previously stated £39.99 to £24.99 in the UK.
The original statement, with the higher price, upset Windows fans in the nation, who would have been paying much more than their U.S. counterparts, who get the upgrade for $40 USD.
Microsoft says the original price was a mis-communication between the company and its press agency.

Having relocated to Philippines, no mention of availability or prices here. Then they wonder why the proliferation of piracy here in Asia, but as most users here only earn $10 a month, how can they afford US prices??? A pirate copy costs only $1 in the local markets.

I agree fully, Oz is left way behind when it comes to price. If the product can be sold in the US for US$40.00 then the asking price here should be around AU$40.00, that's being generous considering current exchange rates. The retailers will of course double it and blame freight.
