Less than 24 hours before the company unveils the most-anticipated phone of the year, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller went on the defensive, attacking Samsung and Android in general.
The exec called Android "fragmented" and says Apple's research shows that four times as many iPhone users have switched over from Android as have switched from iPhone to Android.

The more things change the more they stay the same. Apple is a bully that will slander and name call on top of their stealing and lying to get ahead. The iSheep eat this crap up too.

And the sad part is that non-tech-savy people will buy into Schiller's words.

The thing is, they are now so ludicrously adrift on price with Android's huge range of pricing that they are painting themselves into a corner.
Android is available on cheap phones & expensive phones, ditto tablets.
Apple just does expensive.
I've tried both.
Apple just isn't worth the extra coin in my view.
It's a slick OS and the easy integration across products is nice.
But it's 2013 now and Android devices can do the same thing at a fraction of the cost.
I'd also be inclined to bet the house that within 5yrs the Microsoft Windows efforts will be looking strong in the market too.
...and talking BS (the 9 accounts lie) does nothing but make them look very weak & afraid for their market position.

hmm, lets just look at the fact that the apple stock 39% lower than last year, the fact that more people are using Samsung products than apple, the fact that you don't need 9 freaking accounts to get a full Android user experience (1 Google account syncs everything) After tomorrow, S4 is going to be biggest next big thing, and that is a fact.

The online experience for iPad is crap, pretty much no video can seen aside from youtube. Android is total edited by ddp for other reasons, but at least up to 4.0 it kicked ass and rendered almost every video on the net. Once Jelly Bean came out though, it is just as useless as ios. Nice job Android, you edited by ddp us on your biggest advantage. My transformer pad is better than any iPad, just for the sake that it isn't an Apple product, cuz they suck edited by ddp for not giving any extra ports for memory cards and the like. So edited by ddp apple and edited by ddp android, I'm going back to making hand puppets by candlelight

Insulting the others instead of showing anything good of theirs, as they always do. They will go down soon, and I'll be the first to dance on their grave.

I agree android, at its core, is a great os. However, I do not like the overlays samsung has. Keep it simple and you might have me as a customer.
There was more to this article in USA today. I thought this exec was talking too much trash for my liking. I would not be surprised if this did not create a $hit storm at Apple.
But seriously, all this animosity over a group of devices, to me, seems time wasted. I get the whole price argument, the anti-corporate stuff, but really who cares? People are going to buy what they are going to buy. If its Samsung, great, if it Apple, so what. I say more choices the better for us. I wish MS would get their act straight and come in to mobile computing just to offer people a viable choice as well. Surface is a half-a$$ attempt.

Molsen, Apple cripples the evolution of devices with all that ridiculous patent lawsuits against their competitors. So, I ignore their stuff but, also, I'll be happier when they're gone. I don't deserve that to anyone else but them.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 phone a while back, compared with iphone, the price for the GS2 verses Apples phone was the motivation factor for me and I am very satisfied with GS2. No plans for me to switch to the Apple product when the time comes to purchase another phone in the future.

apple is the company which 1st encouraged piracy, IMO. ipod and 15000 songs, you get me? pirated p0rns have MOV format more often than not, who makes quicktime? android no security? and, you think iOS is very secure? you are in a delusion.

Funny thing is obviously they are worried. If Apple was such a great empire with nothing to worry about he wouldn't have said a thing! Like em or Apple, Android is here to stay and is a force to be reckoned with!
Still if Grandma needs a phone that just works and is easy for her to use Apple is a great option!
Just my $0.02,

I was shown an iPhone 5 at the weekend by a family member.
It was embarrassing.
I felt like I ought to say nice things about it but really I was thinking my 'old' SGS2 is a much better phone - with the exception of a couple of very minor features I wouldn't use.
....and it cost about 1/3rd the i5 price.
I really think Apple are in trouble.
i5 was supposed to be where they caught up & leapt ahead.
In my opinion they didn't even catch up.
If i6 disappoints then,as far as phones are concerned, the decline could be terminal (with the exception of their die-hard fan club, of course).

Agree with the price but the upper end of the android phones will be the same price or slightly higher than an Iphone even the ihpone 5 but the android phones will have heaps of things and be much faster.
as for apple and everything just works I wouldn't agree with that, if your trying to get stuff working from apple on a pc then your stuffed every way and need extra programs to make things work, even their own software even on a mac doesn't allow for easy multi accounts to be handled via 1 computer.
I've had to fix up that problem a heap of times now.

Yeah. I should have been clearer, I was meaning between Apple products.

I completely agree.
I'd also add the reliability of their stuff leaves a lot to be desired.
A family member has a Mac Air laptop & regular as clockwork it has failed 3 times (just outside the year warranty), they fixed it twice free but he thinks they won't this latest time.
It's a know keyboard flaw too.
As he works in music it's just what everyone uses so he's a bit stuck.
You might forgive them being completely over-priced if the quality was there but it seems obvious it isn't.

This is either hilarious or very, very sad. Just like their fanbase, or all those times I had an iPod fail on me just outside of warranty (six: four fifth gen, two sixth).

Try supporting them in a network environment with many users using them. You find out really quickly that the whole Apple just works is a complete lie.
