Xbox is not getting any power!

Hey all, I have a question concerning my friends Xbox. He and I were working on modding his Xbox, when we found out that it was an Xbox version 1.6.
With that known we did a little research on the v1.6 motherboard and found the D0 point. After finding the D0 point, we did a little modification on the Xecuter 2.2 Lite + modchip to be able to connect the correct pogo pin to the v1.6 motherboard's D0 point.
Well, after working on it for a while with no trouble at all, we decided to turn it on and boot it up normally without fooling with the modchip (Like we did several times before). Well, when we pressed the power on button this time, nothing happened. I mean absolutely nothing. It was like it was completely dead.
I guess what I'm trying to ask is what is yall's opinion of the problem. I mean we had it booting a minute before that. We did nothing to it in that time. I don't understand.
Any help would be appreciated!

Yup you did your research for the d0, but not the rest, unfortunately:-)
you cant use a solderless modchip on a 1.6 no matter what chip you use. as You have to rebuild the LPT points .
Check http://www.teamxecuter.com for diagrams for the x2.3b rebuild
to be honest dude, you probably knackered it.
either the mobo, or u coulda blown the power supply, if you have a multimeter you can test to see if the power supply still works ok. have you removed the chip altogether and tried booting it up?

OK everybody forget about RedAnt and solo219.
Anyway, I did see where the LPT points needed to be rebuilt, but I thought it was just to get power to it. Well, since I was getting power to my modchip, I thought it was just for the Xenium modchip... whoops!
Also djboogie, how would you go about testing it with a multimeter if it's the power supply that's blown. (e.g. where do I check on the power supply and what do I look for on the voltage meter etc. Are there certain settings to be switched on the voltage meter[as you can tell I'm sort of a newbie when it comes to voltage checking. sorry!])

Here is another link that might help you out more..Not sure if the ver1.6 looks the same as this version in the tutorial. It might show you what the fuse could look like so check it out anyway. First, UNPLUG YOUR XBOX FROM THE OUTLET! Once you find the fuse. Set your multimeter to "continuity test mode" It will make a beep or noise when you touch the leads together. Locate the fuse, Touch each lead from the multimeter to each end of the fuse. If it beeps while touching both ends it means the fuse is good.. Did I mention UNPLUG YOUR XBOX BEFORE DOING THIS.. take it easy

Hey all, the fuse has been tested and it tests fine! So, the question now is what are some other possibilities of the xbox not getting power. I mean I know there's always the chance of the motherboard being fried, but is there anything more easily fixable that could be blown. I mean, to tell you the truth, it doesn't seem like it's the motherboard seeing that we didn't do anything to it.
I know it's a hard question to ask since there's not much detail on the problem, but maybe someone else had this problem of the xbox not powering up, and would like to share suggestions.

I would check every thing I touched with a soldering iron.. Check the traces you soldered on with the continuity tester again and see if any of the traces are broken.. Unless you already have done this..

Stjowa, You test the traces the exact same way you tested your fuse.. One lead on one end of the trace the other lead on another end of a trace you might suspect could be broken. If it beeps the connection is good. If it doesn't it's a broken trace. Also you might want to wiggle it a little(the leads) when testing them because the board has a coating on it that can sometimes give a false reading by not making contact.. let me know what happens..

Hey,
I tested nearly every track on the motherboard with a continuity tester, and everything tested fine. (Good tip though Matt).
So, what could the next thing be (Motherboard and Power Supply tested!)? Remember it's like it's dead when I try to turn it on. I mean I know it could be anything, but anything in particular.

At least you found out what was wrong with it. Not much you can do about that unless you have a electrical engineering degree and some testing equipment.. Anyways.. glad I could help out..
