Hello, untill recently I started having problems with dvdshrink. I formatted my computer, and now the problems occur. I tried several different versions of dvdshrink and the same thing is happening in all versions. When i put the cd in, it reads the dvd fine, but when i go to back it up, the cd drive opens and when i hit to bakcup the program crasahes. This has never happened before, and i have tried several different dvds with the same effect. The drive opens? that is something that has never happened before. any help would be appreciated. It worked flawlessly for at least 50 rips before i formatted, i am not sure what changed.

Go into your device manager and "remove" your DVD writer. Shut down your system and start it back up. You should get the new hardware detected follow the directions and try again. It sounds like your system is not doing something right with your drive.

I am experiencing the same problem as well! For me, it started happening when I installed DVD Shrink 3.1.7. The same problem also occurs in my DVD Shrink 3.2
I have tried re-installing several times, I have also scanned my system for viruses but it still doesn't work.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for your info....no wonder I have received tons of PE emails....i was wondering if those were sent from my exs.
Anyway, regarding to the DVD Shrink Froze Problem, after updating the BIOS, I can use DVD Shrink without any problem. I urge you folks to try that as well!

I have the same problem. My problems didn't start with the SP2, they started when I updated my Nero 6. I preferred the older DVDShrink 2.3 but then this problem happened and I updated to 3.2 and still have the same problem. Unchecking the "Burn to Nero" box lets it get farther--the DVD tray doesn't open. Will try a few things but am thinking I may have to uninstall Nero and reinstall an older version.

Uninstalled the updated Nero (from the website) and reinstalled my OEM version and now everything is AOK again. Is there some kind of protection algorithm going on with the newest version of Nero?
DVDShrink 3.2 is fantastic! I'm thinking your problem may be with Nero...
