I dont think its the way your backing up the game. I think the game disc is defective, because I tried backing NBA LIVE 2005 and I got the same error concerning a illegal sector. So try changing the disc and that might solve your problem.

Ok, that's a little bit irrresponsible. You're trying to illegally copy a game and you're telling everyone (against this boards rules) about it. So you're going to take a game to the store, tell them it's not working and how do you propose to prove it? They're going to put it into a PS2 and boot it up and tell you "It's working ok" tough luck.

What you should do is go rent another copy so you know you'll get a different disc, and just eat the $5 (if that) to make this work. That said, I am not condoning this action.

Does anyone use a MAC to backup their discs, specifically this SWBF?
I backed up a backup of Def JAM Fight for New York (had an error but the game seems to work fine), but the Star Wars backup will not load the galactic battle in single player mode.

RE Shadow of Rome. I have a question about the order of the files. My original shows the files in different order than the iso. I have burned with the iso and have had no success. Should I try to burn in the order that the original game has them?

I haven't but I tried Devil May Cry 3, but this method did not reduce the final ISO size. I tried burning a 1:1 copy (3.6GB) but I had a problem, so Im going to try again. Anyone else do this game?

I had no problem backing up my orginal of star wars bf by using DVD Decrypter, I'm using a mod chip in my ps2 ver.7 and played the heck out of it. How it helps.

Yeah, my backup of DMC3 worked fine as 1:1, but I thought I'd try the method to reduce loading time like with SWBF, but it didn't do anything different. Oddly there were more bin files to combine than with the larger Star Wars image. Sorry for getting off-topic, but the method is a good one to strip 'junk files' out of games or whatever it does to reduce the file size....

Most people like using DVD Decrypter for it tends to create an ISO for backup alot better than most other applications... I use decrypter to make the ISO, then I use Alcohol 120% or Nero to burn it...

ALL TRUE GAMERS PLAY ON EVERY PLATFORM!

hey guys, just wanted to say that i tried this method and my game still skips. Im am using TDK (TTGO2) DVD-R discs. These disks have been used to burn: Brothers in Arms, Shinobi, LEGO Star Wars, and a few others. The preformance on these discs are excellent. The spped in which i burn is 4X, but i do this because its the lowest supported speed of my discs. If i buy discs that can burn a 1X, will it solve the skipping?
