Truthman, just thaught that ill bring somthing up.
Bandwith...
Well im bringing it up yett again.
System memory
-xbox 360- 22.4 GBps
-playsation3- 25.6 GBps
GPU bandwith
-xbox 360- 21.6 GBps
-playsation3- 22.4 GBps
Now, we see that the difference is very little.
And 360's is unified, badnwiths can very.
But on tech websites, they give a specific bandwith. Mabey its just because the bandwith isnt unified, but the memory is. This may be a dilema, lol its like im disagreeing with myself.
Now, since the bandwith for the 360 is shared. Lets add it up.
Playstation 3
-48gb\s
Xbox 360
-44gb\s
Now the difference is only 4gb\s
But, i can bring this up then.
Remember the radeon 9600?
And the geforce 6200?
One was 3.6gb\s bandwith
the geforce was 8.somthing.
Games such as splinter cell, rely Very much on memory bandwith. That is why the radeon 9600SE suffered so much while running it. And same with most games. The bandwith difference between the 6200 and 9600se was 5gb\s. Now Spilntercell is nothing on the 360 or ps3. NOTHING. the two consols can probably use 1% of their power running the game. But at the end, when games will eventually need more than 40gb bandwith. (which they will) The ps3 will perform better on these games. Despite what each system can produce. (concidering that the se has better fill rate and clock speed than the 6200, the 6200 still beats it in almost every game.)
Just one advantage the ps3 has, and somthing i would like to point out.

Thats some fast GPU dont you think? This card beats the rsx and xenos ati all the way. I seriosly cant w8 till the prices drop down for them. I thought it would be nice to show you the website, since we both are really intrested in tech. Unless you already know about this.
Knowing that its 32 pipes.....Woot....there goes the ps3 and xbox 360!
Im sticking with the CPU man. lol
I also expect Intell to hit with a P5 soon.

you think maybe the rsx is a 7800gtx modded? or maybe the memory bit is 512? i doubt the memory bit but the 7800 gtx mod seems right.

no its not, the RSX is of a similar architecture to the 7800GTX.
its basically a geforce 8 series card. good eh.
Xenon gpu is a 8th card, (X1800XT PE (yet to launch on pc) is 7th gen).
both consoles have kickass cards.
the best PC cards have higher clock+memory frequencies than the 8th gen console cards, yet they are faster and more powerful.
im not gonna explain why, i want you to tell me. (ps. no was please, lol, lets be nice like we are now, wicky WOO!).
about ge-force 71, nicely. that means 7800GTX512 prices will drop, YAY i minght actually get one then. BOOYA, cheers kookoo, i didnt actually know that. Or even, *shock shock horror!*, the X1800XT PE which beats the GTX512 by a *little* :http://casemodgod.com/Reviews-story-3-99.html . im sure that will drop in price too (so its launch price will be lower).
o and kookoo, bandwith is the maximum amount of data in GB's is can ytransfer at once. even the best cards dont use up the full bandwith all the time, thats why it idnt the most important spec.
bandwith intensive games, means that they want more power *at once*(or in a short time, for certain parts) like tranno drink a pint in one second, fast but bloody hard.
Don't judge the consoles by specs, more isnt always better, espec in PS3 specs.i know the truth, ask if u wanna know.......
Do not compete without valid correct technicality on your terms of the argument.

I'm goign to get the ge ofre 71 line or the gefore 8 line. WHEN PRICES GO WAY DOWN. lol I jsut cant imagine better graphics than ps3 & xbox360 right now. I wonder how the graphisc will look. I'm pretty sure that the 7800 is goign to cost 100-200$ next boxing year. LOL im sure of it. The 6200 came out last year, and now its like 100$.

yea that article has been against a X1800XT, not a X1800XT PE.
the X1800XT was the rival TO THE GTX256,
the X1800XT PE is the rival TO THE GTX512,
and the ati won both of them, just*. (plus the X1800XT PE is also cheaper than the GTX512.)
it said the GTX512 is the best out there, BEFORE the X1800XT PE came into knowledegable existance.
BUT, if u play mainly openGL games then the Nvidia cards are faster at them than their ati counter parts, if u compare same model rivels (e.g the X1800XT PE and the GTX512, they are same model rivals, although they are not the same *model* model, if u know what i mean.)
but the ATI wins in direct3d games (which is what most are.) probably the most famous openGL games are doom 3 and quake 4, both are awsome.
BUT if quake 4 was for PS3 then it would play faster than it would on the 360, BUT that as it may be, it plays BLOODY WELL FAST with full settings on the 360, so its not all that bad.

yea its a good one that.
99% of its info is correct (tech stuff), that site speaks my language, lol.
math computations are floating point calculations, but as i have said countless times, only 30% of a games ingame physics handling is math (floating point) calculations, the rest is general performance, which 360 has more off. the website failed to mention that, but never mind, as ive just told you. its not biased, im just telling you simply how that works, its just what it is.
no wars please kookoo, i think we have already agreed upon that a long time ago (plus its true, so we agreed uopn something that is actually right). thank god.
the marketing info made sense also. sony do have to be careful. BUT they do have as they said 'home territory' as they ahev lots of *loyal* (for some reason) PS2 fans to buy their new PS3.
microsoft better have a big magnet attached to their future games, (that is meant to pull in PS2/3 fans into the 360 way of playing).
halo 3 seems to be the biggest bad ass magnet. along with gears of war as 2nd.

What is synergistic prossessing unit which the PS3 has 8 of? WHy are these more power full than 3 seperate cores seperated into two threads?

how can you tell whats better x1800 pe thing or the 7800gtx 512? there are almost no games that can be that good. numbers dont always mean better, cuz wireing is a matter to.

TruthMan you are correct when you say that M$ need games that attract lots of people, but i think they have the best line up for a year any consol has ever produced (2006), you mentioned halo 3 and gears of war, but those are only some of them, you are missing out 2 days to veygas, too human, oblivion, project im, huxley, DOA4, ghost recon, war devil, killing day, frame city killer, niny nine nights and pgr 3 and those are just of the top of my head there are all together 160 coming out in 2006 so i am a strong beleiver that M$ can win the battle, for example i braught two of my sony fanyboy friends to play halo 2 online for the first time after one hour of playing both of them decided to get xbox's with halo 2 and live, lol. so i think with the games of 2006 and word of mouth M$ should dominate unless sony show killzone 2 in it form of e3 at ces, lol.
