ms will not dominate. i predict higher sales of the ps3 on the launching weekend. and the games comeing out for it seem just as great. even if ms pulls ahead, which i doubt, ps3 will get most of the games depot in time because games will need to blurays space. dev teams are running low on space for the 360 and the more then compress the more you have to wait for loading, not to mention dvd9's slow load times compared to bluray.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

This is the only true argument you can bring up on the 360 is this blueray stuff.
Sony have a disc that can hold 50gb and Microsoft have a disc that can hold 9gb. The only thing that will happen is more discs will be needed for the same game. Please stop making out its the end of the world for Microsoft. If it was such a big deal as you suggest I am sure Microsoft would have equiped thier 360 with a HD-DVD drive.
What Sony have done is a good desision in promoting thier new format. Thier new blue ray format is very good but the disadvatage it has of HD-DVD is simply cost otherwise this argument wouldnt be happening and blue ray would be a standard for HD films considering it can hold about twice as much as a HD-DVD.
PS3 has a upper hand on the 360 by having the advantage of having one game on one disc. Microsoft have been stupid to not include a HD-DVD drive in thier 360 but this is simply becuase HD-DVD isnt available yet and Microsoft wanted to gain a head start on Sony.
The whole point I am trying to put accross is that the 360 will not fail becuase of its DVD9 format. You would have to be quite dumb to think that a multi billion dollar company with some of the most intelligent and experianced people in America or the world, working for them would make the mistake of including a format that will mean thier own demise.

they are tying to make it seem like the great sysem but it is not. there will be few games on multi disk cus i dont think anything but rpg's work well with multidisks.

What like Metal Gear Solid 1 or Twin Snakes (gamecube), Resident Evil 2,3, Code Veronica (Dreamcast), 4 (on gamecube), MYST and those games seemed good to me. There are more games but those where games off the top of my head.
360 will not lose texture quality becuase of mutli discs which I have explained before and gamecube is proof. Resident Evil 4 is alot better texture quality on Game cube than PS2.
Microsoft may bring a HD-DVD drive but what ever the case is DVD9 will not mean the 360 fails.

if they bring out hd-dvd. all the previous owners will be like "wtf" cuz they cant play new games and now they have an expensive brick of sh*t. having to do this will push many people away.

I am sure Microsoft wouldnt be so stupid on such a move. Besides they said if they where to release a HD-DVD model it would be only for films. Meaning games will play on both versions as they will still be DVD9.
Anyway can you honestly see Microsoft doing as what you suggest. Could you imagine the up roar and law suits against Microsoft. Besides there has never been a case like it in the history of computer console's.
Can I ask a quetion. I seem very Pro 360 when posting reply's to you and you know why? Becuase you praise the PS3 as if God himself has made it and Sony can do no wrong. When I release any post on the 360, why do you alwayscome back with a negative even when you know its a weak come back or wrong.

what are you talking about weak or wrong? the fact of loss of graphics or gameplay due to disk size is possible, the lack of hd-dvd was a flop, they should have waited. and dont u think current 360 owners would still get pi$$ed at the fact that they have a 360 that cant play the movies when other people are now paying the same price for a console that can. now they have to buy a new console or an hd-dvd player. i think ms know hd-dvd is a lost cause. i mean sure its a bit cheaper, but wernt dvds like 10 dollars a disk uppont their release? and will developments and loss of mony value the bluray totals about the same. hd-dvd is nothing more than a faster 3 laer dvd. bluray is a new techknowlagy that will moove us into the future, rather than this recession of tech that has been occuring.

anubis you are talking like the ps3 is like 3 times better than the xbox 360, hell no its not, its the same when you add everything into it like xbox live and blu ray, i thought you knew your stuff before but now i know you are a true sony ps3 fanyboy but you just do not like to admit it. i mean i like the xbox 360 and i will stick by it but to do so i have to know what the ps3 is offering and too me its great but the way some of you guys are going on about it like its really gonna be 3 times better than the xbox 360 in which case i say good luck to you and your new found crap and i say carp b/c you called xbox 360 a brick of sh*t.

also if your only good point about the ps3 is blu ray than have it, take it for free for all i care its not worth anything to me i did not hear of it before coming to thins forum and i managed to live without it so i recon i will do just fine with one in the xbox 360 also all the devs at the moment are saying that the disk space for the xbox 360 is fine for now and perfsonally i do not mind if i have to have 10 disks its not all that hard, lol, when i first heard about the blu ray, sony fanboys were going on about it like it was a sperate consol altoether i thought that it maybe did a lot more but all it really does is use larger disk space and for that you will be charged anyway, lol

Truthman, did'nt you relize that at sony E3, they didnt specify how many threads the cell would have?
Well lets take this in compairison. 1 360 core is weaker than 1 cell core? but that 1 core has 2 threads, while the cell has ???? threads.
I'm pretty sure that since the cell is like a super core, it wont have more than 5 threads, but defenety more than 3.
Lets agree on this ok!? lol
360 still having a better processor.
oooo yea I got to agree with you when you said some games wil play better, some wont. I agree with that, and for the same reason you say. So just lets leave it at that.

360 processor can be better, it its utilized. how many thread did you say would work for these early game? and how many towards the end of its life? not more than 4 or 5 at most.

as its stands. but the cell has not been released. its basically 7cored with a leader. the leader is the main core. spitting out commands. and the spes are problem solvers

??????? the cell isnt 7 cored. Do you know what you just said>? Core is another word for processor. The cell is a one cored processor. With 7 SPE's. Spe's are not Processors. And i hait it when people call the mini processors when they are not. The Spe's arnt problem solvers either. Dahm it man, you can never admit it that the 360 has the better processor.

holy sh*t lots to reply to.
ok ill answer the tech posts later on, its late at night (11:30 PM GMT) at this moment so im lazy :-) and cant be arsed for a full tech talk, which makes me tired even at morning after ive got out of bed.
those 2 games i mentioned are *only 2* as you said, but they were only the 2 of what i think are the biggest PS fan magnets.
they do have some real kick ass games coming up, which i also think far exceed most PS3 games. and PS3's best games are still no mach for the best 360's games. e.g. halo 3 will kick killzone right in the teeth and then make it swallow them without water.
gears of war will graphically out perform killzone during gameplay (realtime) as its a very well tuned unreal engine 3 game, UT2007 will ROCK with xbox live just as halo 3 will and halo 2 did. UT2007 also has AWSOME unreal engine 3 graphics (although not quite as tuned as gears of warm still better than practically all other xbox 360 and PS3 games, i recon that Ut2007 will have better graphics than killzone. currently all killzone videos were all pre0rendered ones, grr bloody sony, they set a large false impression then tear people through it when they buy the PS3 expecting those graphcis.
very saddening. the people deserve to know the truth about the PS3, hense my name. thats why i gave it to myself from the start.
if everyone was unbiased, things would be so much better.
(sorry about there being no paragraphs hardly (only 3), feeling sloppy at the moment)
Don't judge the consoles by specs, more isnt always better, espec in PS3 specs.i know the truth, ask if u wanna know.......

i am not a 100 percent but i heard somewhere that huxley is gooing to have a online multiplayer of 500 people, and its also using unreal engine 3. frame city killer is also using the unreal engine 3
as for killing day personally it looked a little better than gears of war, so either its going to come out in 2007 or there is going to be a better engine than unreal 3???
PS, take a look at blu dragon on gametrailers.com b/c it looks really good and its in real time soo....

BUT still when the proper game, of UNREAL 3 comes out, that will undoubtedly be the best graphical game of 2006 i bet you. that game is unreal 3 engine AT ITS BEST, (and if that game isnt at its best with visuals that good, then i dont know what will be at its best with that engine).
the 360 is more optimised for unreal engine 3, i read it somewhere, in some wierd online article. no idea what its name was though.
plus HDR with AA on unreal engine 3 games (especially unreal 3, will MAKE YOUR JAW DROP!), o baby i cant wait. but i still want halo 3 more, lol. BUT that is the game i want most graphically.

about the engine, the games that use it like the ones u mentioned will use its interface, and handling, not its graphics potential. the games have to be amde from the start with that in mind.
i know some games that used unreal engine 2 and didnt have as good of graphics as UT2004 or unreal 2 (the PC versions which sued the same engine). it will be used for gameplay, and then it will be tweaked to how the game producers like it.
so i still recon gears of war will be better.

These threads are so hard to keep up with now, so.....I'm just replying to this one ONLY. The other threads(exeption of zelda and others like zelda) are full of fanboys\girls flaming at eachother. And being non-smart. Im sick of it, look here, anibus just said that the cell is a 7-cored processor. OMG DO YOUR H.w. I'm even reading articles with comments like these. "One spe can perform 2 threads, so the cell will have 14threads in total"........O GOD...idiots gosh....LOL
ANYWAYS, truthman, you never answered my question. Do you agree that the cell will have less than 6 threads, but more than 2? I gave my reason in my other post......GIVE YOUR REASONS TO.
And o yea, my 6200 works like a charm.(compairing to my intergrated card that went max 10fps), LOL. Now I am pretty sure that the geforce 6600,(or the ati gcard equivalent) can run these games, at a decent framerate.
Any ways, I'm just really happy that i can run CS, at 30-40(60max)fps. WOOOT. Kalonline(max 50) silkroad(??but pretty good). Silkroad and kalonline are two massive online RPG's, pretty good games, but if you dont like rpgs, Dont play it. By the way, while i was returning my radeon 9600se, I played 360 again. It was great. I was like drooling. Truthman, you are very lucky to own that consol. I envy you. Lol. I just cant w8 till i get my own, and get my ps3 aswell.

I cant remember which thread you said this on but you was talking about Final Fantasy 12. I said my reasons to why I didnt particuly like Final Fantasy but after what you said version 12 is like I might give it a try if I get the chance. I dont mind turned based combat it was just that stupid thing where enemies would pop up out of the blue all the time and every time with the music and Japanese theme it drove me mad.lol. My type of RPG is Star Wars knights of the old republic and Zelda (hense the name).
One thing I have forgoten to tell you guys is somthing I read about the cell. The cell is comprised of 8 SPE's and from what I read in a few Playstation Magazines of interviews with Sony is that the 8th SPE is there as a defect. When manufacturing the cell apparently the 8th SPE can be defected in manufacturing so Sony made the PS3's 8th SPE redundant. I presume this means that Sony wanted 7 SPE's but with manufacturing the last SPE it can be a defualt so they created an 8th redundant one so when being manufactured if the 8th SPE is manufactured incorrectly then this will not matter as its already redundant. Correct me if I am wrong.
Another thing I need to understand is if the 360 has 3 cores each with two threads i would have thought this alot better than PS3's 1 core prossesor with 7 SPE's?

but one thing i need you to understand. a spe (synergistic processing element) runs at 3.2 gz. there are 7 regular ones. the information is one threaded, but being done 7 times. the 360 is at 3.2 on two treads totaling 6 times. you see, each spe is like a core, but it does not tell itself what to do. the main core sends info and prosesses to each spe. the spe's are doing the work, and the main core is the slave driver.
its 7 info per cycle on the cell, and 6 for 360.
