The problem with people forgetting to close their img tags will be sorted next week, after which, any tags that aren't closed properly, wont render at all.
And sure, I _can_ edit people's sigs, but I never do, I just let people to do it by themselves.
The current site layout is what we internally call "version 3" and it was launched in December, 2003. First version lived from June 1999 until November (or so..) 2000 and the 2nd version from Nov, 2000 until Dec, 2003. We have plans to start planning (heh..) a new, "v4", early next year, but it usually takes anywhere between 18 months and 3 years to get the layout rolled out (as we don't just change layouts, we usually rebuild big chunks of the site as well, as a major relaunch is always a good chance to go through your code and look how it should be done differently), so I wouldn't expect major layout change until 2008.
The main difference between our site and many other websites is that we don't use ready-made content management systems, forums, etc -- everything we use and you see on the site is developed by us in-house.

cool drd :) i think ill stll be here in 2008 :)
@Domreis, i think what you are talking about was Lethal_B's problem that we talked about before :) hes sorted it out now anyway so that should be fixed, and when drd or another staff member fixes the close tags problem then there will be no more of that.

Weird thing today, I've been getting the usual thread update emails from the aD server but when going to the thread which has the new post, it doens't show anything "new". E.g 2 of my update shad my own post as the latest post and those were posted 1-2 days ago. Anybody else having this prob? When in forum view I can see who's posted last in the thread but not when I'm in the thread itself :S
Someone may reply to this and I might just see my own post as the latest :\

creaky: That wasn't exactly meant to be online yet, its on one of our servers which is usually not in production :-) But ye, we have gathered tons of feedback via our competition (for those, who haven't heard about it, go to http://www.afterdawn.com/general/innovate.cfm) and all the changes we've done during the last couple of weeks have sparked from those suggestions we've received.
The tabs will grow bigger, because we've received these worrying suggestions that have made me double my doze of variety prescription-only meds -- such as "it would be cool if you guys would launch a software section where we could download all the tools discussed on the forums" and "some kind of selection of guides edited by you would be a nice addition to this site".. Making me think that I have some funky bug in the code that has made the top navigation to disappear from non-admins... Thus, bigger navigation, bigger search box, etc. If that doesn't work, Teemu (our gfx guy) will have to do a big frigging finger that hovers on top of content and points to the top navigation bar..
