There was a problem with the main page of AfterDawn.com which caused page requests to queue up until all the server was doing was processing front page requests. That caused other pages (eg. the forums) to stop working as well. The problem persisted from 18:50 to 19:25 UTC.
The problem is now fixed, and things are back to normal. We're very sorry about the inconvenience!

Some new features and functionalities were implemented earlier today, which caused some unexpected errors. Most of the problems should now be fixed. There will be a separate announcement about the features later on. Many of you have probably already noticed the automatic message quoting button/link. =)

Mate Kentola is a part of the Admin but he did not create afterdawn. That honur goes to dRD. Kentola and the other mods and admins help maintain the site that dRD has created.

Hi, does anyone know why sometimes I don't seem to be able to see the latest posts in a thread? For example, I'll make a post and someone will reply and I'll get a notification email, but when I check it, it's as if the last post by me and the reply by the person did not happen. Then after a while it seems to update. I don't think this is anything to do with internet cache as I've cleared these usually at the end of every session and I clear them when this happens and it doesn't make a difference. It just seems to update at some point when I'm logged in...?

That's just how it is. You have to be logged in to see the latest post on a thread... :-)

I've had the same problem for at least a year, whether logged in or not. You can see all the replies by hitting reply and read the last ones and just x out without actually replying.

That's a strange fault there Garmoon.. I haven't experienced the thing you described for ages. It was my browser settings then, but can't remember what they were. I can see the latest post whether logged in or not.
Everything seems to be working well, apart from stuff2 being slow again tonight.

Looked into it and it seems that if the [ /quote ] tag is immediately preceded by an url (with no white space or newline in between), the quote won't close.
Actually there seems to be some problems in general with the nested quotes. Need to look into them more closely.

[/quote]As suspected they don't nest at all. I'm more used to phpBB which does nest quotes, but no other tags.
