To whomever it may concern,
I have brought this up many times in e-mails to the site ... and I get the same answer ... which is not correct.
My problem is when I am on a forum ... since I am LAZY, I don't want to write down the solution(s) that someone suggests instead I try to save that page on my hard drive and print it ...
I go to "FILE" and click on "SAVE AS" ... I usedc to be able to do this before ... but for the past year I have not been able to.
Now AfterDawn keep telling me that it is my Browser or something ... buty it is not ... because I can use this step on other FORUMS just fine.
PLEASE Fix it or tell us what to fix ... other than LOWERIN our Security on our computers to ZERO.
THANKS,
G!

gonwk: Well, you can't actually download anything from this forum. But from our software section, yes, you can. We don't ask you to lower your security -- if you read the goddarn "no leech" page, it clearly states what to do (either log in to your account or change your ZoneAlarm's settings to allow HTTP_REFERER to be passed, which is in no way a "security risk", it simply tells the web page from which URL you came from). If anyone has a working alternative for preventing hot linking (mechanism where sites link directly to download files on our servers and which used to cost us couple of thousand per month) I'm more than happy to implement those ideas to the site.

I am having multiple posts showing up. I had this problem before while using Netscape. I am now using Firefox and this problem just started again.
I have the same problem while using ie. I ran Ad-Aware and Norton and they didn?t find anything.
Look at how many times this is posted.
Sorry guys :-(

@Domreis - i'd request you don't post until you reinstall; i'm deleting all the pages of clone posts in that link, and i'll no doubt get a tap on the shoulder due to my internet usage (they count every webpage click as a minute at work)

Yup, coming in and out. Time started for me: 11:00 p.m. EST and still going. First, couldn't load forums then at 11:14 p.m. could load forums, but not the reply pages. Got this reply to load after try number 16. Hope it will connect to post this. :)
Edit: just a little update. An hour later now and sometimes it load the forums and sometimes it doesn't. Happening now trying to post this. Having lightning storms over there? Or is it the cold weather coming in? 'Cause it's colder than the surface of Europa here. :D

Me too. I wasn't even able to log in directly or by replying to a message in the forums. I was able to log in successfully (at 11:56 pm US EST) when I attempted to reply to a comment in the glossary section (under SECAM) and I didn't get the error.
-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

Sorry about the inconvenience!

Strangely, I was able to move around and reply with little trouble once I logged in the way I did. Glad it's fixed now.
