Does any know what the purpose of the gameboot folder in the dh of 3.10 does? wont it be easier to just put the gameboots there or is it still work in progress?

i wish sony would allow more customization of the psp. like alternate gameboots to be a built-in feature. same with the ps3, it needs new visualizers, and some new backrounds would be better. people like to make things unique.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

you need to put the original gameboot back if the program lets you. if not, i hope you have 3.03 oe-c or higher. if you do, boot to the recovery menu, go to advanced i think, and enable flash0 thru usb. then you dont need crappy programs to edit your NAND. and psp dual firmwares of the 3.x sort seem to lack support for a gameboot past the original. i used a file no bigger than the original, and it didnt work. i believe they have a checksum in the newer firmwares that when the gameboot is not a certain size then it doesnt play it.

yeah i have 3.03 oe-c. so if its not the same size as the default ganeboot.pmf the it wont work? sorta like hex editing the xmb if its not the same # of letters and everything it wont work.

pspset is a great flashing tool , but heres something to remove a step in that process...
load your GAMEBOOT.PMF without FLASHING to VSH....load your GAMEBOOT from your ms0!
-Tutorial by MIME
hope this is appropriate for this forum...good luck!
post script:::::::::::::::::::
if your 01-12.bmp, topmenu & opening plugins are custom, the sizes will most likely be larger than the original...leaving gameboot.pmf very little room....hopefully there will be more x_plugin.prx hacks soon, especially seeing how much UMD sales have dropped in the states...it seems logical to start moding our psps more and buying higher capacity ms0s...
it's like crack i tell you!!!!

its alot harder to to brick it if you do it wiht the recovery menu.
dont use shit like flash x just get the file you want to flash in this case a gameboot witch is called "opening_plugin.rco" so once you have that go to you recovery menu then go to "advanced" then "toggle usb (flash0)" open your "removable disk (?:)" ? could be anyting
open the "vsh" folder then the "resource" folder and put your rco file in there click yes to replace the old one, or copy it just in case you wanna change it back:P

Okay this has been troubling me for a bit (I've tried Googling for a solution, but haven't found one yet...): Is it possible to remove the just the "Playstation Portable" part of the gameboot logo, and still keep the "PSP" part? I've noticed that the person who posted the vid (first post) has the PoP gameboot like that. How is that done?
Thanks!

grab an RCO Editor...and look @ your flash0/vsh/resource/Opening_Plugin.Rco
there should be an image @ [MIG] tex_psp_logo .. or something like that....
your image that you swap with that one has to be using less than 255 colors, and has to beeither 8-bit or 24-bit .BMP image...
I might make a tutorrial....right back..

i need help
use gameboot path mod to free up flash0 space, then try again....this will make your GB run from memory stick, instead of trying to fit into flash0....should run fine

i think thatsa old method to use, the sort you used in 3.02 oe-a days lol. now i would use the free up flash 0 space app, you get like an additional 2.5 mb, thats more than enough to mod your psp xmb. have you ever used the free up flash0 space app gasconade?

nah, i thought that it messed with pgf(fonts) or something like that...i need to re-mod my whole psp, i feel old cause i dont like 3.10 OEx..
i still like the gbpathmod cause you can test your gameboots from ms, instead of having to flash them, or use an app....i noticed that it added some free space as a side-effect..but, if the free fl0 space mod can free 2.5 meg, sign me up brother.....where is she?
