from what i can tell they all work great... i have a wiikey and have had great results too... theres probably no unbiased opinion though, because probably no one is using all 3 modchips on a daily basis that there even being compared.... allthough the best opinions probably come from installers who do it professionally.... but, everyone loves the one they have because there all pretty perfect... theres just a couple problems with different regions and some gc games... and that will change soon enough anyway

I would personally go with a WiiKey, simply because of the amount of people that have wiikey's. The forums here are full of others that have installed and are using wiikeys so are most if not all other modding communities.
Thats why I bought my wiikey anyways.
I purchased my wiikey at http://www.xbox-modchips.com/wiikey.htm They have a special where if an order is over $40 before shipping you can save $10 by entering coupon code: 10off This will allow you to get a wiikey and a Tri-Wing opening tool for $30 or so..
Now I could be wrong and the WiiD could be a much better chip then the wiikey, its just I do not see anywhere near the same amount of people using these chips as with the wiikey.
If I am wrong about the WiiKey I would appreciate any additional information on the WiiD from someone that has used both a Wiid and a WiiKey...

Yes sure there may be the same amount of documents, but my point was the sheer volume of people that have a wiikey compared to a wiininja or wiid is huge. So if one was trying to trouble shoot an issue not in the documentation provided by the manufacturer, chances are they would have greater luck with the wiikey as most likely many others have run into and come up with a solution to the issue..
At least thats what I think....

Hi. I have a wiinja v2.0 and all backup games were running perfectly. All new backup games that I get don't play at all though but the old ones still work! Has anyone else had this problem?

hi guys!!
well my final year thesis is due on friday, and have decided to get my wii chipped asap!!
have decided to go for an original wiikey (as it seems to be the most popular choice on this forum, pls advise me if i should go for sth else!)
and i have a 20W soldering iron,
ill be going for a wired solder option as again appears to be most reccomended,
ive made a list of of tools i will require to carry out the solder job,
solder wire
flux
tweezers
tape to fasten the chip(what type of tape would be best?)
hopefull ive covered everything, but can someone please fill me in if ive missed out anything at all?
thanks!!!
yep

I assume Electrical Tape would be best...
You can get an original Wiikey at http://www.xbox-modchips.com/wiikey.htm
They have the WiiKEY + Wii(TRI-WING) Opening tool for ~$30 with coupon Code 10off
They were pretty fast with the shipping for me.. You may also want to checkout the www.wiikey.cn site for official resellers in your area so you are sure to get an original and not a clone.

So If I have a PAL Wii with a Wiikey installed;
Will all PAL Gamecube backups work?
and Will many NTSC Gamecube backups work?

listen, there is a multitude of information out there that youre going to want to read... no one is just going to open your thread and answer all of your questions at once
but as far as the PAL systems go, there are some gamecube games and NTSC games that will just not work.... also, you must be sure to be careful about staying up to date with the firmware, if not, an NTSC game update will brick your PAL wii
you wont need the flux really, the points are big and the sodering (even with wires) is incredibly easy to do... one thing I would recommend however is to get a 15w sodering iron thats grounded, the points are delicate and ive heard that a heavier wattage can ruin them
http://www.ps2-scene.org/m37r01d/Wiikey%20review.html - this walk through is ok, but it only shows you how to do the quickwire install and it doesnt show you how to get it open
i dont remember where at this point, but i got 2 step by step install sheets on how to get the wii open most effeciantly... this is probably the most important thing of all because of 2 things: 1. the screws are all different sizes and go back in kinda randomly, you definitly need the diagram of where they go and 2. there are 2 points (taking off the front and taking off the drive) where data ribbon can easily break, you just need to know when to be careful
anyway, good luck, if I find where I got all of my step by step printouts ill let you know

I think the firmware of the WiiKey is unchanged right now, but there IS an update coming up with the SD backup feature.
All updates can be gotten from the Official WiiKey Homepage. Just click the resources tab, then burn the ISO you extract from the zip onto a DVD.
where would i get this V 1.2 setup disk, off the internet do i burn it off or what.

Sounds interesting, hopefully it will be out soon. Xecuter is known to delay new products for long periods of time...
But usually anything Xecuter makes is top notch, so I am sure this will quickly become the choice of Wii Modders everywhere.
Also it doesnt hurt that xecuter has deep pockets and many connections for advertising and generating exposure for their new product.
