yeah, i wouldn't put to much faith in turning off the region override feature, just really be careful that your backups are PAL.... and like i said earlier i would still purchase the ones you know will run an update (spm and vanguard)

I thought I read somewhere that the WiiKey handled most media types and brands and could be pressed using any DVD recorder. If it is an ISO then can't you just burn with any DVD authoring software?

Don't ya think it is kinda late to be asking what chip is best since you already ordered 1? LOL
Most ask this before ordering their chip.
In any case you will not get everyone to agree on this subject 100%

Will the modchip void my warranty, or can I take it out if I need to return it?

Well it depends on how u solder it, wires or straight to the board - i would suggest wires as you can remove them if u really need to.

Not that i can remember, but youll have to double check. Are you going to be soldering it yourself?

nope, no stickers... apparently nintendo feels that the triwing screws and small space inside are enough... but yeah, if you use a wire install they can very easily be removed, and with a little luck not be detected if you need to send it back
on another note, in some forums ive heard that nintendo will service your wii even with a modchip, but you have to pay for it if they detect it... if they remove it apparently they will even send it back to you (that was in germany though, not sure about nintendo america and american mod chip laws)

I have a little problem. I'm not certain if my modchip is a Winja or a Wiifree. I'd like to know how are the two when playing multi-discs games, and if they naturally can't I'd like to know if there's an update to fix it. A way to be certain of which one of the two it is(and version of the Wiinja if it's one) is also apreciated.
P.S.: I can't open the console and the retailer also doesn't know.

why cant you open the console and why doesnt the retailer know?
you could try making the wiikey setup disk and putting it in, it will run on any chip, but if its a wiikey you should be able to toggle threw the menu and select settings using the reset button (that wont work on other kinds)
if its a wiid, holding in the reset button for 3 seconds disables it (i think) so if you do that and it stops reading backups (or even that wiikey setup disk) than its probably a wiid...
i have no idea how to find out if its a wiinja, but since they all do about the same thing, there really isnt a way to tell without looking at the chip.....

I was wondering without it sounding like a completly dumb question how do you do the wire install because thats the one I want to do because I would just feel much safer doing it the wire way also what kinda wires can you use is there a certian specific kind?? thanks so much

I have searched all the foroums and decided to buy a wiikey but then a friend of mine advised a Wiid because its better overall.
Can someone just give me a non-bias answer Please!
Thanks
