Ok this message is so much about modding Halo 2 it is about .Net Framework itself. When ever I try to run it or DotHalo it keeps telling me that they are not a valid Win32 app. Someone plez help if you can.

I am trying to mod my xbox, and I am using the Pc to Xbox method, well I try the DotHalo thing but it never 'Pops' up? Did I download the wrong .Net? Or is there something else wrong, and the other... whats it called... Don't remeber but the other thing you put up doesn't open either.

FTP is File Transfer Protocol. It alows you to send and receive files from ure PC to ure Xbox or another PC.

OK . you probably have answered this 100 times but im gonna ask this 1 more time . my friend on xbox live has a modded xbox . i frequently play modded maps on custom games with him . but he says he is banned from matchmaking and matchmaking only. but i have heard frequent answers on here that says he SHOULD be banned from XBL. so what my question is .. If i mod my xbox . create modded maps . and play custom games but NEVER try to cheat on matchmaking . can i still create and join custom games without being banned from XBL? (i know ill be banned from matchmaking)

For the retard who told you to download all the files/software..xyron or whatever...you dont need all that stuff..now you was right when u said u needed a connection from your xbox to your computer so u can transfer files but you DO NOT NEED .Net or whatever..now i might be wrong because u might be talking about something else..but what im talking about is getting modded files to your xbox or making you own mods in DotHalo and sending them to your Xbox! Anyway, all you need is DotHalo or the program xyron listed if you didnt get DotHalo to work and modded maps and softmodded xbox. You then transfer your files to your xbox (the modded files) and ta-dah>!< It should work. Got any questions jus PM me and ill get back to you..i know this reply might have been confusing but im rushing to get out of class! haha..

Thepharo----You asked if you could get rid of a mod in a middle if a game..the answer is NO! If you are softmodding which this forum is about then you cannot stop modding in the middle of the game unless of course ur Xbox freezes, lagged out, ect...

I need some help guys.
1.I mod the map using dot halo
2. I fix Encryption in dot halo
3. I Close it in dot halo
4. I resign the map using cmr
5. I FTP the maps back into the xbox
6. I start halo 2
7. I go to multiplayer
8. I pick the map
9. It loads up but all i see is a gray screen and then a coundown to spawn but it just keeps restarting. I never spawn
Is there someting i did wrong if so will you plz tell me so i can play my modded maps

KKlein19 (Newbie) - Okay. Making maps with dothalo is pretty hard. If you mess one thing up, it won't let you play it. You should either get someone to teach you dothalo, get mods from someone (or a website), or keep trying.
anyways- i suggest bridging to cheat on halo2. its much easier. ill help you with that if you like

Okay first of all u need to check that ur applied the encryption..if it doesnt say it didnt apply then try it again. Also try to use a different software then CMR. If this doesnt work for you, then im clueless as of what u have done. Also u might want to try to redo the map..maybe it can load it but it dont read the map which u transferred from the hardisk..idk..thats the best conclusion i can come up with..never have had that happen b4

What is the easiest program to softmod your xbox and only use the new maps on Halo 2, I don't want to mod the old maps just new ones.

First of all, its easier to mod the new halo maps cause they are saved on the hard drive.Old maps you cant really do anything with except for like skins and stuff to the weapons and the map itself. Im not to sure what you are really asking when you say which program is it easier to softmod the xbox with..but if u send me a PM, i will send you my tutorial (on my website) on how to mod. Its an Awesome tutorial with pics and precise directions on what to do.

I think the easiest program to use is CH2R (http://www.halomaps.com). Also modding new and old maps takes the same skill. The only problem is getting the old maps. To access the old maps (the ones off the disc) you first have to copy the entire Halo 2 onto your harddrive. I am pretty sure that all of the softmodded dashes come with DvD2Xbox ( a program that copies games or movies to your Xbox). I am sure there are other similar programs, but this is easy to use and fairly common. Once you have copied the game to your Xbox, you FTP and retrive the old maps. Now you can edit them like you would new maps.
After you edit the old maps and put them back onto your xbox, you can only use them if you play off your xbox harddrive. I dont think you can get on live playin off your harddrive, but you can use XBC or another software like it.

If your planning on modding any kind of maps..which most ppl are moddding new ones, then u need to copy Halo 2 to the hard drive anyway. And if you dont have a mod chip with xtra memory..ur using the softmod..then you might have a problem concering holding enough memory cause all your maps are modded. But if ur smart, then u can just mod the maps you want to play on or whatever. (Ihave a feeling some of you ppl have no idea what im talking about) (Been modding for 2 yrs)

Hey guys im kinda new to this ive got everything i need to mod but...
i cant get DotHalo to work everytime i go to change a number for like how much ammo i can carry it says *Plugin, There was an error while changing the value*
ive even tried the H2Edit and it does the same thing can you help me plz

Hey try downloading .Net Framework...if that doesnt work then re-download DotHalo. Either way, DotHalo requires .Net Framework. Look it up on google to download it. (easy)

I don't know what to do i am a new modder or trying to be one on halo 2 and i don't know where to start first on what i need and how to do it and where to do it. i am lost in all that softmodding, file transfer protocol,and action replay stuff all i want to do is be a modder not all that other stuff

Do u mean invisible, or invincible (where u cant die)? If its where u cant die, then u r talking about elite mods. Meaning, if u r an elite, you cannot die even if ur not a modder. The only way u can is if u r assasinated or granaded. Anyway, u can either find a way to make your own mods or i can send u my elite mods that i have..whichever you want to do..i suggest u make ur own mods cause its funner and ppl get to see new things dealing with mods.
