Dose anybody have any information about pre-orders?
Ive been asking around at gamestops,eb's,baggages...ect and most of the people that work there dont have a clue. Some say 2 wait untill E3, which i could do. but if anybody has any idea about anybody taking pre-orders(other than FYI) maybe someone that works at a Retail place that has a good idea. I work at a wal-mart and the sony rep says it depends on store sales and eventually a number will be thrown out there for each store. Im just curious if anybody has any info....!!! i just need something 2 eeeezzz da pain... maybe some ether will work!!

mabye late summer? late fall? its a bit earily to tell they couldput thigns off again.

you know, everyone was all "omg i dont wanna wait" but we, atleast i, no dont care so much. i can pass time easy, i remember feeling like "omg the gdc is soooo far away" but it only feels like it was a few days ago. time goes fast for me if i dont pay attention. so im up for the wait. and ill walk in with to reservation, there is little difference if i get there early. ill only preorder if i gt a bonus with it or if the cost will all go to my overall cost.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

So PS3 is officaly stated to be between 499-599 euro's. They think the price will be the same in US dollars. So PS3 will be $100 more expensive than the 360, providing Microsoft dont decide to drop the price of thier console when the PS3 comes out.

well i read that it is going to be somewhere between 499 and 599 euros and that is equal to something like $620 - $720 USD.
i would have to say that it will be £400 in the uk, around 525 euroes in europe and in america probably about $500 - $550.

well if they charge too much then ittl be a psx all over again. incase you didnt know, the ps3 was like a big white ps2 with online functionality a 250gb hdd and was a complete media centerpiece but bombed into the ground because of its pricetag at $800.

yeah i remember that. lol.
i think it did not have enough hype behind it compared to say ps3 or xbox 360. i remember hearing about it somehwere and appatently it was supposed to be 2 times better than the xbox or something. but after that i never heard a single thing again, until today.

I was willing to buy that if it came out but unfortunatly it didnt.
It looked nice and could record TV, had a far better dvd player and could surf the net like a PC, but at its core it was still a PS2 and was not more powerful but rather a PS2 with alot of 'bling'.
Anway with regards to price you are right rabbity. In US dollars it does work out as more but as they say America alawys get it a bit cheaper and it will most likely be a euro to US dollar match. Either way it will be more expensive than the xbox 360 so Sony really have to put alot behind it inorder for people to be convinced to buy it.

Do you think the Media industry will not shot down a simple digatal recording from TV device?
I mean look at Tivo its not simple its a friging monlthy fee for what?
Altho I have just recalled there are simi simple video DVD Players/Recorders ><

Sorry ZIppyDSM, I dont quite follow you still. Anway I dont see whats hard to understand from my point. I work in an elecrical superstore and you can buy DVD recorder's every where for cheap and just record TV. You can also buy Hard drive recorders for a reasonable price to record TV on a hard drive which was the concept of the PSX with a 200gb hard drive. WHats hard to understand about that?

i was watching the gadget show ontv and they were talking about blue ray and hd dvd, but they said that the format they thihk will win the war will be the hard drive, like the sky hard drive which is already out.

he knows, he ment the hard drive will be a format of choice over time.
and if u havnt read, when HD-DVD comes out, there will be no titles available, and there wont be untill about a month after the release. even then there wont be more than a few, maybe 3 titles until 2 months where there will be about 5-10.

Most of thos machines will have normal macrovision copy protection to prevent copying of movies right?
