If n3 is rolled out in britian will the sat versions of the dreambox still get the paid for channels over here in ireland?

think yer getting mixed up mate, the chans you get via dreambox on sat is not from cable, nowt to do with it,

Hey mickah,excuse my lack of understanding, okay so its cable but still theres a way is there not, suppose they got the satalites under there control ,ps i dont mind a "thats as likely as" comment as ive said excuse me for lack of knowing much and been ungifted when it comes to this.Why does the up@ box's all have ethernet ports?

at present there is no way around N3 for cable and dont see it happening anytime soon, sat is different as you are getting the chans via sat, but unlocking em from the router.
Why ethernet on a upc box, not sure, havent had one in a long while,

o i see the sats pluck the channels outa the air, and its the router thats the mad genius, solving the puzzle.Who controls the router.Will this work for ever.

Don't mean to jump in Mickah mate, UPC don't even know why the newer boxes have an ethernet port. I asked one or two installers. Mind you they don't tend to know jacks usually. One said it's for further down the road, which I take as 'I don't have a clue'!

Don't see why not. Also to copy recorded stuff off the box to pc as I imagine it would show up as a drive on your network once configured correctly. Thats what I suggested to one, cue blank stare from him!!

Hi i have a dreambox 500c and have scanned bruteforce uk to get channels list i have edited the keylist in the var/keys folder and rebooted enigma. i now have the full channels list with full epg but most channels just give me a blank page? any ideas plz. also i am in lancashire UK. thanks

also there is a key in the bottom left that seems to be lit up when the channels arent working if that helps

Hi, I have successfully flashed my box in the past, thanks to the help of Markarman and Cscott. The last time I did it was May, I lost the movie channels during the summer (dreaded nagra I think) but continued to use the box for kids cartoon channels and music etc. However in the last couple of weeks these are all just showing a black screen with programme details so all i have are about 6 basic channels. Am I goosed, should I consign my box to the scrap heap or is there a more up to date image that I can still get what I had a couple of weeks ago? I'm in Dublin thanks in advance.

Guys the AU Fix included in the image i uploaded in May has not changed.
Unless you are in ireland and leeds UK. Then all you need to do is reflash your boxes.
Also you will need to start the cam when you do so.
Use deamup to flash and click no to flash erase. Unless you are in the 2 locations stated there is no problems anywhere else.

Hi Miarach. I am in Dublin too. Yeah its the end of the line :( for the time being at least. Nearly all channels gone here too. The Ntl basic digital package is only ?5 per month dearer than the standard analogue package. I think I am going down that road.

I thought as much mossymor but was hoping against hope! I have the digital n*l basic package, very handy for taping, pausing etc but for general tv i always used the dreambox as it is easier to change channels and see whats on. There is a time delay with the digital when changing channels, using the guide or menu which drives me to distraction! but otherwise it looks like i.m stuck with it. Hope this helps, happy xmas everyone.

I recently had the "man" in as I had trouble with my signal. I was going to get another box off him but he told me to hold off until about half way through january as the prices are going to drop considerably.

Hi,
I have recently flashed my dm500c using cgscott image/fix dwempty roll - I have flashed a few times before and all has been fine - however this time when I restart the evocam2.12 there is no change?
Any advice?

Hi All,
I have a 500c which like many here was working. Currently I have only RTE1 and maybe 3 other crap channels viewable.
Is it possible to use the 500c in a similar way to a freeview box to get the channels that N*L basic package (in dublin) provides?

I Don't think so. NTL are encoding more and more channels with nagra3. As i said b4 an extra ?5 a month on the basic analog package will upgrade you to digital with all the channels apart from Sky movies sky sports etc. Until someone cracks N3 ( no time soon)thats your other option.

Ive just done one my self with out any problems with a working firmware if you need the firmware ill upload it.
