Thanks ddp. I was in the process of incorporating credit to Ireland inside the pic. That single line was taking up unnecessary space. It now meets what you were asking for.

LOL You're right, our preferences for sigs would be a better subject for the bitch thread. Just a note though, you counted the size of the pic in your sig, but the 3 lines of text are taking up space as well. My sig just fills in where you have text. To tell the truth, both are a bit bulky.
But mine lead to guides, thus bringing extra traffic to our great site :D

Excellent use of space promoting the site. As I said, no complaints from me. That still doesn't change the fact it's there. From what ddp noted, it seems you're slightly oversize with that text. Maybe they will let you skirt the rules since it's so close and it's for the site.

Im gonna leave this thread for now, because some things I want to say are not for public viewing, but nothing is getting removed from my sig, its as simple as that.

tsk tsk tsk. boys boys boys. lets not bicker over who's is bigger eh? you ones with the max size sigs are darn lucky. over at some other sites i frequent max size is 350 x 150. now THAT sucks.
as for the complaints. i do agree, the big sigs are quite distracting, but you are within rules and rights, so i aint gonna say "TAKE IT DOWN!"

You posted just before I got post up. Like the sig, at 400x170 it's not quite as big as some. ;) Mine was a gift and as they say, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Pacman - cheers darl. :) i didnt realise my sig was so big until i rechecked it. i think its all the white space, it actually makes it look smaller than it is, know what i mean? and yeh, i didnt say you should take yours down, its within all rules and regulations. and yay for gift sigs. XD

I realize you didn't say anything about taking any sigs down, just that we were lucky to have such lenient rules on sigs here at AD. You're right about the white. Like I said before, looks good.

Bickering? I thought we were just having a discussion on sig preferences and then ddp informed us of who was actually legal and who isn't. To refresh everyone's mind, here's the rules that apply:
Signatures
These rules exist to make viewing the forum as pleasant as possible to all users. Even though you might think signatures with large pictures look cool, some might find them extremely annoying.
1. Text-only signatures should have at most 5 lines of text.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
3. If you use an animated picture in the signature, it should not be too distractive. Eg. blinking images or images with quick movement are not allowed.
4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.
5. All the abovementioned rules for forum posts apply also to the signatures.
Violation of these rules does not lead to an immediate ban. However if requested user must edit his or her signature to fit these guidelines.
Which means there's a bunch of illegal sigs floating around here, including yours svtstang. With your line of text it's 20 pixels over height. Funny, your line telling ddp it's legal is what makes it not. As I told DVDBack23, I'm not complaining. The situation doesn't bother me, I'm on DSL and used to scrolling past the big sigs.
I followed ddp's instructions, lose the text, and put mine within specs.

Ugh whatever, text is gone to avoid the sig police coming after me. Rules are a bit screwy it seems, my sig was smaller then yours when the one line of text wss included. Dont mind really anyways, after all it is just a picture lol.
Dvd, dont make me fly to NY! If I dont get a new sig soon I will!

ddp and the other mods have been pretty kind to us on the sigs, just asking us to be in compliance. You're right, it is strange you can have a smaller sig and it still be noncompliant. Rules are rules and there had to be something put in print. All in all it seems fair.

i'm hoping the Admins will get the sig nonsense sorted eventually, ie i'd like to see a section of the sig space that's locked down for a sig pic of a specific size, and a space just for text, so then we'd never have to chase people who deliberately make sigs that need 50mb broadband, just to load up. All we mods would have to do re sigs is weed out any spam or referrals etc... I live in hope :)

A simple way to end this crap is end sig and add aviatars
like Avatars must be no more than 100x100 pixels.
with mod control,and can be deleted.
if the aviatar is offensive
