Thanks for the links! I briefly checked out http://krhainos.deviantart.com/ and I must say, that fellow has some pretty solid skills! I will check the rest out in a bit, very interesting stuff me thinks.

krhainos is a great guy; we chat on messengers a lot, and he shows me a lot of his stuff long before it's completed. :-)
actually, we'll probably be splitting a hotel room at Anthrocon '08. (yay for cheapness!)

good idea as your sig is out of spec to forum rules. yours is 90,666 bytes, 259x300 pixels.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

I think your new sig is alright PacMan, but the text could do with a little work, IMO.

Sorry, I know that Ireland has a couple of dozen fans or so, but I have to agree with Phlax when he says that ""kick ass sig" and "ireland" should never appear in the same sentence together."

And faqman, I can't even remember what it looked like, do show me. However, I guarantee it's merely a picture he grabbed off his HDD, maybe messed with in MS Paint and then put some text on...

The previous sig Ireland made up was a radical warrior type with the name PacMan777 in lettering that looked good on the background. Like many of the sigs, it probably came from a capture picked up somewhere. I liked it, but as someone mentioned, it didn't go with the name. I appreciate whatever effort it took, he helped me out. He didn't have to make it for me. As to the my lettering on the sig, a quick attempt at the job with little software for the task. All help and input appreciated. ;) The attempt at humor was in the pic and not the name. Hopefully I'll do better next time.

I wish I could create decent sigs; I really need to buckle down and learn to use photoshop properly rather than "trail and error". We've got to remember though that anything "artsy" is also a matter of taste. I thought I'd post a couple of my paintings/drawings. I happen to think they're pretty good though but others, as with all artsy stuff, think they stink LOL! Again, its personal taste (and a little ego LOL!)
1. The face of my friends cat. It's oil on canvas and quite large; it was an experiment in creating paintings specifically to be seen from a distance:
2. Boats at dock. About 4 ft long and 20 in high. White paper and black wax pencil (fancy crayola LOL!). Can you spot the mistake I made?
3. The face is actually all grey; screwed it up trying to fix the brightness in photoshop:

I've got to agree with you on that one rip. I worked hard to study painting and drawing; it just isn't right to download something, manipulate it and say its yours.
We are a talented bunch here though. With me, its a blank paper of blank canvas (of the cloth variety) while with you guys, its a blank canvas in photoshop but we needn't manipulate the work of others, we needn't download fonts ... we do original work in the truest sense of the word and that's what art is. But again, its taste, some will like our stuff; others won't.

I like your boats piece Gerry; very good.
BTW, if you post the original of that face, i'm sure one of us can fix up the brightness for you in a snap. Telling you how to do it in future, of course ;-)
And nice to finally agree on something Gerry. Can't help but feel I've given you a bit of stick over the past month and we never saw eye to eye, so to speak, but thanks for the comments.
